Forza Motorsport 7 goes Brickyard racing with the May update and free Indycar pack

Forza 7 Indycar pack

The Indy 500 is one of the most iconic races of all-time, and with the 2019 event fast approaching, it seems only right that Forza Motorsport 7 racers get the opportunity to live the dream – with the Forza 7 May Update and subsequent arrival of the free Indycar Pack.

Available to purchase and download into Forza Motorsport 7 right now, the free Indycar Pack is the latest car pack to drop a number of new vehicles into the game. If you hadn’t yet guessed, this time round we are seeing some of the best running cars from Indy history present, with no less than 6 new motors arriving for use.

If you fancy taking to the oval and reckon you have what it takes to compete with the best at the Brickyard, then the following stunning motors will quite obviously be a huge draw…

  • 1969 Ford Brawner Hawk III,
  • 2018 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 Pace Car,
  • 2019 Honda #15 Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing Dallara,
  • 2019 Honda #9 Chip Ganassi Racing Dallara,
  • 2019 Chevrolet #2 Team Penske Dallara and the
  • 2019 Chevrolet #22 Team Penske Dallara

With a car weight of just 1500 pounds, and twin-turbo Honda and Chevrolet V6 engines powering them along, throwing out more than 600 horsepower in the process, it’s easy to see why the Indy scene is such a big part of a petrolhead’s life, and the Indianapolis 500 is quite possibly the greatest spectacle in racing. With that in mind, there should be no reason why Forza Motorsport 7 players won’t want to see these cars added to their game.

But that’s not all that Forza 7 fanatics will have access to and alongside the new motors comes added Forza Race Regulations (FRR) functionality to enjoy. This means that lapped players will now be ghosted in both single and multiplayer modes, whilst those partaking in a bit of private lobby racing will be able to enable the full FRR rule-set. Further still, the May update will see more granular FRR penalty times (now measured in .25-second increments).

Elsewhere Turn10 have also made some notable improvements to other aspects of the game, including adding a Spectate ticker being added to timed races, with them also addressing several issues with car headlights, along with a fix for a stability issue PC version of the Forza Motorsport 7 free trial.

So, does all this bring reason for you to head back to Forza Motorsport 7 on Xbox One and PC? Will you be grabbing the latest Indycar pack immediately? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
