4 new games land on Game Pass this week.

Game Pass subscribers have another varied selection of games to explore this week, with Dune: Awakening bringing its standard edition to the service, a brand-new dark fairy-tale adventure arriving on day one and Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 expanding to another Game Pass tier. There’s also a surprisingly early addition for a game that only launched around a month ago.

From the unforgiving deserts of Arrakis to a rotten kingdom filled with dangerous creatures, the latest Game Pass additions cover plenty of ground. Here’s what’s arriving on the subscription service between 21st and 27th September 2026.

At A Glance

  • Dune: Awakening – 22nd September – Cloud, Xbox Series X|S, Handheld and PC
  • Well Dweller – 22nd September – Cloud, Console, Handheld and PC
  • Mad King Redemption – 23rd September – Cloud, Xbox Series X|S, Handheld and PC
  • Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 – 25th September – Cloud, Console, Handheld and PC

Dune: Awakening Brings The Standard Edition To Game Pass

  • Available From 22nd September
  • Platforms: Cloud, Xbox Series X|S, Handheld and PC
  • Game Pass Tiers: Ultimate, Premium and PC Game Pass
  • Developer/Publisher: Funcom

Dune: Awakening has already been available for play through its Deluxe and Ultimate Editions, but now we see the Standard Edition join Game Pass. That gives subscribers opportunity to experience Funcom’s ambitious survival adventure without needing to purchase the game separately.

Set on the iconic planet of Arrakis, Dune: Awakening combines open-world exploration, crafting, building and RPG systems with a cinematic story. Players must contend with the planet’s extreme conditions, construct their own base, create vehicles and find ways to survive the dangers lurking beneath the sand.

You can explore alone, join friends on a shared server or venture into a public server populated by hundreds of other players. Combat options include different schools of the Imperium, with abilities and tools inspired by the Trooper, Bene Gesserit, Mentat and Swordmaster.

Well Dweller Offers A Grim Fairy-Tale Adventure

  • A Day-One Game Pass Release On 22nd September
  • Platforms: Cloud, Console, Handheld and PC
  • Game Pass Tiers: Ultimate and PC Game Pass
  • Developer: Kyle Thompson
  • Publisher: Top Hat Studios

If Dune’s vast deserts aren’t quite your thing, Well Dweller heads in an altogether stranger direction.

Created by the developer behind Crypt Custodian and Islets, this dark-fairy-tale metroidvania follows Glimmer, a tiny bird armed with a matchstick. Glimmer must venture through a decaying kingdom, rescue their kidnapped family and ultimately take on the wicked queen.

The matchstick isn’t just for show, either. It can illuminate the surrounding world and assist in combat, while new abilities help players reach previously inaccessible areas. Trinkets can also be collected and combined to customise Glimmer’s capabilities.

Alongside exploration, puzzles and boss battles, Well Dweller features a cast of unusual characters, including Ilda the mouse and Looter, a scavenger with a taste for stolen goods. It’s a day-one Game Pass release, making it an easy one to investigate.

Mad King Redemption Arrives Earlier Than Expected

  • Available From 23rd September
  • Platforms: Cloud, Xbox Series X|S, Handheld and PC
  • Game Pass Tiers: Ultimate, Premium and PC Game Pass
  • Developer/Publisher: Secret Mission Games

Mad King Redemption is the week’s early surprise, arriving on Game Pass only around a month after its initial launch.

This brawler blends old-school beat ’em up action with roguelite mechanics and 3D visuals. The kingdom has fallen under the control of a ruler who attempted to resurrect the queen through forbidden magic, only to lose his sanity in the process.

Players can choose from four playable characters, each with their own combat styles, backstories and customisable statistics. Runs feature randomised elements, while upgrades and unlockable skills provide additional ways to develop your heroes.

Expect plenty of button-mashing action, alongside a roguelite structure that should offer more depth than a straightforward arcade-style brawler.

Black Ops 6 Expands Its Game Pass Availability

  • Premium Subscribers Join The Fight On 25th September
  • Platforms: Cloud, Console, Handheld and PC
  • Game Pass Tiers: Ultimate, Premium and PC Game Pass
  • Publisher: Activision Publishing

The biggest change of the week arrives on 25th September, when Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 becomes available through Game Pass Premium, joining the existing Ultimate and PC Game Pass offerings.

Set during the early 1990s, Black Ops 6 delivers a spy thriller campaign alongside multiplayer and the return of round-based Zombies. The campaign features a mixture of large-scale action sequences, covert operations and heists, while multiplayer offers a range of maps and modes.

Zombies fans can also take on six new maps, with Directed Mode providing a more guided way to experience the story. Grief introduces a more competitive approach to surviving the undead hordes.

Our 3.5/5 review of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 found a game that improved on some of the more recent entries, although it struggled to match the heights of classics such as Modern Warfare 2 and the original Black Ops. As we said at the time: “It’s Call of Duty though, and with Xbox owning Activision, anyone with Game Pass has access to it, so it doesn’t hurt to try.”

With Premium subscribers now gaining access, another group of players can decide whether Black Ops 6 deserves a place in their rotation.

Four Games, Several Ways To Play

This week’s Game Pass update offers a little bit of everything, from Dune: Awakening’s sprawling survival experience to Well Dweller’s compact metroidvania adventure and Mad King Redemption’s arcade-inspired combat. Black Ops 6 then rounds things off with a major tier expansion.

Whether you’re looking for a new world to explore, a fresh day-one release or an excuse to return to Zombies, Game Pass has several arrivals worth checking out in the coming days. Let us know what you decide to jump in with.
