Free Fire & Ice DLC pack available now to The Surge players

When The Surge released on Xbox One earlier this year, it most definitely came with a hint of the Dark Souls about it. Set in the future, initial thoughts of a comparison would have been wide of the mark, but the more you would have played it and the more you would have been battered by the big bosses it delivered, and the more you’d have been left cursing the ‘Dark Souls of the future’. Now though there’s something to help you get by and it’s great to see the Fire & Ice DLC pack arrive for nothing.

Available right now, the Fire & Ice Pack for The Surge does indeed cost nothing. Not a penny in fact. But what it does do is send 10 new high-tech weapons into your experience – and when you get a game as tough as The Surge, any help you can get is hugely appreciated.

But what do we have? Well, the new ‘discoverable’ weaponry is split 50/50 between fire based weapons that were originally meant for the security forces (their loss is our gain), and some Space Travel testing tools. You’ll need to hunt them down, but thankfully your Organizer will hold plenty of clues, giving you the chance to locate the most deadly of weapons. Expect a battle, but just remember the huge rewards that will be coming your way should you succeed.

If you need a bit more content in The Surge and don’t want to pay for it, then the Fire & Ice pack more than delivers. Get over to the Microsoft Store now. It’s also available on PS4.

Don’t forget to check out our review too.

DLC Description:

Discover 10 new high-tech weapons lost in the CREO Complex. 5 fire-based weapons meant for security forces were stolen from their containment units. 5 CREO Space Travel testing tools, state-of-the-art equipment using hypercooling technology, have been lost during the incident at CREO. A security memo and a CREO newsletter in your inventory’s Organizer give clues to locate these 10 deadly weapons!
