Free Invasion Update detailed and dated for Earthfall

2026's Best Games

If you’re still enjoying the Left 4 Dead style action that Earthfall recently delivered then you may well like to know that a brand new update for the game is fast approaching – and it’ll be free!

The Invasion Update for Earthfall is the next major update for the cooperative online shooter, with it due to arrive on Xbox One, PS4 and PC come October 30th 2018.

Getting ready to thrill shooting fans, the Invasion Update brings with it a new Horde mode, upgraded player progression system with unlockable player abilities, and new weapon sound effects provided by the renowned Hollywood sound studio Formosa Group – those behind the likes of Blade Runner 2049, Deadpool 2, and John Wick 3.

“We wanted to show our fans how serious we are about the future of Earthfall, and that is why we sought out the best sound design team in the world to level up the audio of Earthfall,” commented Collin Moore, Senior Community Manager, Holospark.

“The new weapon audio gives each weapon a new dynamic and punchy feeling that takes each weapon to a whole new level,” said Russell Williams, CEO of Holospark.

The award-winning sound studio Formosa Group has treated gamers to enhanced audio in Earthfall, levelling up the weapons sounds: from the thunderous shots of the Desert Eagle, the sharp click-clack of AK47 machinery, and the sci-fi inspired Valkyrie gun that incinerates enemies. The changes to the weapon audio adds to the cinematic immersion as players fight back alien monsters in the Earthfall’s Invasion Update.

But that’s not all and the Invasion Update will add-in two of the Earthfall community’s highly requested features – Horde Mode will bring four new maps where players will fight back countless waves of new alien monstrosities, whilst the player progression system will enable gamers to unlock 50 levels of new cosmetics and player abilities.

If you haven’t yet spent some time with Earthfall, but quite fancy giving it a go then this new additions look to push the game on to the next level. For our full thoughts on how everything plays out, make sure you check out our Earthfall review.
