Free-to-play Dungeon Defenders II gets official Xbox One, PS4 and PC release date

-

2026's Best Games

Currently available as a Steam and PS4 early access title, the full release date of Dungeon Defenders II has been revealed…and it’s also been confirmed that it’ll release on Xbox One too.

Indie developer Trendy Entertainment have today announced that their action tower defense RPG title, Dungeon Defenders II will launch, officially, on Xbox One, PS4 and PC come June 20th. And the best thing about it? It’ll add to the growing list of free-to-play titles on the Xbox One Games Store.

Inspired by the best bits of tower defense and RPG, Dungeon Defenders II will come with the usual loot, pets and a variety of heroes all in need of a bit of levelling up. Support will be in place for not only single players, but for those who like to partake in a bit of four player online cooperative action and local split-screen mayhem.

It’ll obviously come with the usual in-game purchases, allowing you to purchase new heroes, costumes, skins, pets and more, but for a free-to-play title, that is something we have come to expect.

“We’re very excited to finally be able to bring the Dungeon Defenders franchise back to the Xbox platform,” said Marco Busse, Chief Executive Officer at Trendy Entertainment. “Dungeon Defenders II expands on the combination of shared action and tactics that made the original game so enjoyable, and that experience has only continued to evolve as we’ve grown it alongside our incredible community through early access.”

Building your defenses will be pretty damn important to surviving against progressively tougher waves of enemies, but if you can find a strategy together with the other players on your team, while fighting actively on the move, a decent degree of success will come your way!

We will of course remind you once the game arrives on Xbox One.

I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore.
