Virtual farmers looking to add even more realism and sustainable practices to their operations are in for a treat as Farming Simulator 25 goes deep with Precision Farming.
Developer and publisher GIANTS Software has today released the Precision Farming 3.0 pack as a FREE download for Farming Simulator 25 on PC, Mac, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
This latest iteration builds upon the hugely successful previous versions, integrating real-world smart farming tech into the game.
Smarter Farming: New Gameplay Features
Precision Farming 3.0 introduces several new mechanics designed to optimise efficiency and reduce environmental impact:
- Tramlines & Subsidies: Manage your fields with greater accuracy using Tramlines, guiding machinery along defined paths for better crop growth. Furthermore, mirroring real-world incentives, players are now rewarded with in-game subsidies for planting the nitrogen-saving catch crop, oilseed radish.
- Advanced Spraying Tech: Fine-tune your sprayer performance with Pulse Width Modulation (PWM). This tech allows individual nozzles to deliver rapid bursts of liquid, automatically adjusting flow rates based on speed and turns for precise application. This works alongside Automatic Section Control, which uses GPS data to activate or deactivate sprayer sections only where needed, minimising waste.
New Equipment for Precision Work
To help utilise these new features, the pack includes new machinery and upgrade options:
- John Deere R975i: A new trailed field sprayer joins the roster.
- HAWE Body Swap System: A versatile system allowing different bodies to be mounted.
- Wienhoff TA 25 Profi Line: A compatible slurry tanker body for the HAWE system.
- PTx Trimble WeedSeeker 2 Sensors: Upgrade existing compatible sprayers with these sensors for intelligent spot spraying of weeds.
Building on Success (Over 5 Million Downloads!)
This free pack continues the mission started by the original EU-funded EIT Food initiative, which aimed to promote sustainable farming technology. Precision Farming 3.0 retains all the core functionalities beloved from the previous versions – which accumulated over 5 million downloads across FS19 and FS22.
Features like soil types, soil sampling, environmental scoring, economic analysis, yield maps, crop sensors, and variable rate applications remain, providing comprehensive data to improve farm efficiency.
