2026's Best Games

As the brilliance of the Xbox Game Pass has grown, the freebies given out to Xbox One and Xbox 360 gamers via the Games With Gold scheme has slowly been pushed into the background. With a month just gone by that has failed to excite, can the next batch of free Xbox games provide the shot in the arm that we need? Well, the free Xbox Games With Gold titles for October 2019 have now been announced – and it’s not a bad month to look forward to.

Rolling into play from the 1st October and holding place until the end of the month – and in the case of one Xbox One game, slightly beyond – the free Xbox Games With Gold titles for October 2019 aren’t a bad bunch, and Xbox gamers should be looking forward to seeing the following hitting their digital library for free…

As always a valid Xbox Live Gold subscription will need to be in place in order for anyone to make he most of the free love that the Games With Gold scheme delivers, but with one of those in place, there is next to no reason why a download shouldn’t be taken in. In fact, even if you don’t plan on playing the free downloads right away, it should all be actioned if only to save them for a rainy day.

Of course, with this latest batch of free games on the horizon it means that time is fast running out for anyone to get a move on with the downloads of the games from September, and so if you haven’t yet downloaded Hitman, We Were Here or Tekken Tag Tournament 2 then we advise you to get to it.

Whatever you think of the free Games With Gold titles for October 2019, we want to hear from you. Are these free games no-brainers? Could they have been better? What games are you looking to see stripped of their price tags? Let us know all your thoughts in the comments down below and via the usual social channels.

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore. Gamertag is neil363, feel free to add me to your list.
