Remember Myst? You should do as when it first released back in 1993 it fast received critical acclaim and is still looked back on as a cult classic. Nearly 30 years on though the development team at Cyan are back with a whole new sci-fi adventure as Obduction launches on Xbox One.
Previously available over on Steam after a rather successful Kickstarter project which netted the team more than 1million dollars, Obduction makes its way to Xbox One to allow a whole new swathe of gamers the opportunity to enjoy the sci-fi journey found within.
Available right now from the Xbox Store, a download of Obduction on Xbox One will set you back just £24.99, with an initial launch discount dropping that asking price down to £19.99. While that may not be anywhere near some of the super cheap launches that we are fast becoming used to on Xbox One, the Myst connection more than makes this a worthy look.
Our full review of Obduction is fast approaching and will be live for your perusal in the days ahead, but chances are Obduction will be delivering a more than decent experience. It is one that sees you left alone on a scarred alien landscape, after being abducted. It will then be up to you to navigate your way through the weird world ahead, traversing through the strange world that Obduction brings in order to find a way home.
Exploration, the need to solve puzzles, and the opportunity to uncover multiple secrets all lay ahead for anyone wishing to delve deep into Obduction on Xbox One. We reckon a trip to the Xbox Store in order to grab a download should well be a necessity for anyone who previously enjoyed what Myst provided back in the day. Even if you aren’t quite that long in the tooth but wish to take in a tale that is full of choice, consequence and imagination this is likely to be worth a shot.
