Ah KEMCO. We never bore of KEMCO. With their plethora of retro-beat fantasy lands, if it’s a little RPG adventure you are after, KEMCO will provide it. Today they build out their library further as Gale of Windoria blows in to Xbox, PlayStation, Switch and PC.
Available to purchase and download right now on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S (fully optimised), PS4, PS5, Nintendo Switch and PC (Microsoft Store for now but expect Steam love soon), Gale of Windoria is the latest adventure to come out of the KEMCO team. Give them their dues though, they did at least try to mix the usual ideas up a little in Overrogue.
This one focuses on Windoria, the country of the winds, where windmills turn slowly in the breeze and Beakle riders crack on with their everyday lives. Beakle riders, you say? Why yes – Beakles are small little craft which are powered by the wind of Windoria, soaring high as they are blown along. It’s due to this where Breeze Riders get their name – and it’s these guys who you’ll become familiar with throughout.
Priced at £12.49, Gale of Windoria comes with the usual KEMCO fantasy nonsense that we know and love. Tetra Quartzes, Beakles, and cities of magic will all be thrust towards you as you work through this adventure, utilising the power of wind, of water, of earth and of fire as you go.
Upgrading of skills and abilities will also be at the fore, and it’s something you’ll need to take in as you do battle in the lands of Windoria, with multiple paths opening up a ton of opportunity.
We’re extremely familiar with how KEMCO like to play their games and Gale of Windoria looks to deviate from that in only the minutest of ways. But that’s not a bad thing as we’ve found ourselves drawn in to their adventures more than we care to admit. If you’re in that camp too, then you’d probably do well to pick up Gale of Windoria too.
You’ll find it on the Xbox Store for Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S, with full next-gen optimisation in the house. It’s on PC, PS4, PS5 and Switch too.
Keep an eye out for our full review of Gale of Windoria as it lands.
