What new games are being added to Game Pass this week?

Xbox Game Pass is keeping the momentum going into the final stretch of May, with Echo Generation 2 leading a fresh batch of additions alongside co-op chaos, cozy bug collecting and one of modern RPG gaming’s most beloved sci-fi adventures. There’s a nice spread of genres landing across cloud, Xbox Series X|S, handheld and PC this week – although a few major departures may sting for some subscribers.

At A Glance

  • Escape Simulator – May 26th – Game Pass Ultimate, Game Pass Premium, PC Game Pass – Cloud, Xbox Series X|S, PC
  • Echo Generation 2 – May 27th – (Day One) Game Pass Ultimate, PC Game Pass – Cloud, Xbox Series X|S, PC
  • The Outer Worlds: Spacer’s Choice Edition – May 27th – Game Pass Ultimate, Game Pass Premium, PC Game Pass – Cloud, Xbox Series X|S, PC
  • Crashout Crew – May 28th – (Day One) Game Pass Ultimate, PC Game Pass – Cloud, Xbox Series X|S, Handheld, PC
  • Kabuto Park – May 28th – (Day One) Game Pass Ultimate, Game Pass Premium, PC Game Pass – Cloud, Xbox Series X|S, PC

Escape Rooms And Sci-Fi Mysteries Kick Things Off

The week begins on May 26th with Escape Simulator joining Game Pass across cloud, Xbox Series X|S and PC. Already hugely popular on Steam thanks to its ‘Overwhelmingly Positive’ reception, the first-person puzzler finally arrives for subscribers with both solo and online co-op support.

Nearly everything in its escape rooms can be picked up, moved, inspected or smashed apart in search of clues. Better still, online co-op allows players to tackle puzzles together, turning every room into a collaborative scramble of communication, confusion and last-second breakthroughs.

This one could quietly become a long-term Game Pass favourite.

Echo Generation 2 Headlines The Week

The biggest Day One arrival arguably belongs to Echo Generation 2, which lands on May 27th across cloud, Xbox Series X|S and PC via Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass.

Following the award-winning original Echo Generation, this sequel shifts the focus to Jack – the father – in a turn-based sci-fi RPG built around deckbuilding mechanics, multiple playable heroes and a branching, multi-perspective narrative.

The voxel-inspired visuals stand out, but beneath that nostalgic aesthetic sits a surprisingly layered combat system. Players will build parties, customise decks and exploit enemy weaknesses through stance-breaking mechanics and powerful synergies. Combined with its synth-heavy soundtrack and shifting storylines that move between noir horror and cyberpunk influences, Echo Generation 2 feels like one of the more ambitious indie additions Game Pass has seen in a while.

Obsidian Returns While Chaos Erupts In The Warehouse

Elsewhere on May 27th, The Outer Worlds: Spacer’s Choice Edition joins the service, giving subscribers the definitive version of Obsidian’s acclaimed sci-fi RPG.

With its sharp writing, branching choices and eccentric corporate-controlled universe, it remains one of the strongest single-player RPGs of recent years. Whether you’re returning to Halcyon or diving in for the first time, this is an easy recommendation.

Then, just a day later, things become considerably less organised.

Crashout Crew Looks Delightfully Unhinged

Launching Day One on May 28th, Crashout Crew transforms warehouse logistics into a multiplayer disaster simulator. Supporting up to four players online, the game revolves around driving drifting forklifts through increasingly absurd delivery requests while trying not to completely destroy the workplace.

Physics-driven chaos, impossible deadlines and exploding cargo all seem to be part of the appeal here – and it looks perfectly built for Game Pass group sessions.

Kabuto Park Adds A Much Softer Landing

Rounding out the week is Kabuto Park, another Day One release arriving across cloud, Xbox Series X|S and PC.

Where most creature collectors aim for sprawling adventures, Kabuto Park deliberately keeps things smaller and cozier. Players spend a summer vacation catching bugs, training them and taking part in tiny beetle battles, all wrapped in a warm, nostalgic atmosphere.

It describes itself as a short experience designed to respect players’ time. We’ll find out in full review very soon.

Leaving Game Pass Soon

As always, a few games are also preparing to leave the service on May 31st.

  • Against the Storm (Cloud, Console, and PC)
  • Crypt Custodian (Cloud, Console, and PC)
  • Metaphor: ReFantazio (Cloud, Console, and PC)
  • Persona 4 Golden (Cloud, Console, and PC)
  • Spray Paint Simulator (Cloud, Console, and PC)

This week’s Game Pass refresh might not have one giant blockbuster dominating the conversation, but it does have range. From escape room puzzling and sci-fi RPGs to forklift-fuelled co-op chaos and relaxing bug collecting, it’s another reminder that Game Pass thrives when it embraces variety.

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore.
