It’s been a busy few days for Xbox Game Pass. Earlier this week, subscribers welcomed heavyweight additions like Final Fantasy VI and Jurassic World Evolution 3, but today brings a pair of very different experiences into the spotlight. On one side sits the emotional, wordless journey of Herdling. On the other, the terrifying survival horror of Total Chaos.
Neither could be more different, yet both help showcase the incredible variety that Game Pass continues to offer. Whether you’re looking for a thoughtful narrative adventure or a nerve-shredding descent into madness, today’s additions have you covered.

A Strong Start To June For Game Pass
Before diving into today’s arrivals, it’s worth remembering that June has already delivered some major additions.
Final Fantasy VI joined the service on June 2nd, continuing the steady rollout of the beloved Pixel Remasters across cloud, Xbox Series X|S and PC. Widely regarded as one of the greatest RPGs ever made, it remains a landmark entry in the genre.
Alongside it came Jurassic World Evolution 3, giving management sim fans the chance to build, customise and manage their own dinosaur-filled attractions. For players who enjoy creating sprawling parks and solving operational challenges, it easily covers the bases.
But now the spotlight shifts elsewhere.
Herdling Brings A Quietly Emotional Adventure
From the Okomotive team behind the acclaimed FAR series, Herdling arrives today across cloud, Xbox Series X|S and PC, expanding its reach into Game Pass Premium while remaining available through Ultimate and PC Game Pass.
Players guide a herd of mysterious creatures through alpine landscapes, climbing ever higher towards a distant summit. Yet beneath that straightforward premise lies a story built almost entirely through atmosphere, visual storytelling and emotion.
What makes Herdling stand out is how much it communicates without dialogue. The relationship between its protagonist and the creatures under their care forms the emotional backbone of the experience, creating moments that are equal parts heartwarming and melancholy.
In our 3/5 review of Herdling, we said: “Herdling is not the game to convert those averse to walking simulators: It can drag, and has a confusing control setup. But it is also beautiful, heartbreaking and heartwarming in equal measures, and that’s all done without a single word spoken.“
It’s not a game for everyone, but those willing to embrace its slower pace may find something genuinely memorable.
Total Chaos Delivers The Opposite Experience
If Herdling is all about reflection and quiet emotion, Total Chaos couldn’t be further removed.
Also joining Game Pass today across cloud, Xbox Series X|S and PC, this survival horror experience drags players onto the decaying island of Fort Oasis, where reality slowly begins to unravel around them.
Armed with limited resources and little understanding of what is happening, players must scavenge, craft and fight their way through increasingly disturbing environments. Every scrap of ammunition matters, every item has value, and every step deeper into the island raises more questions than answers.
What begins as a mystery quickly evolves into something far more unsettling. Our 4/5 review of Total Chaos praised the game’s atmosphere, stating: “Total Chaos is a disorientating tale of mystery, horror and survival which despite some frustrating niggles, details a desperate struggle against insanity itself.“
What’s Next For Game Pass?
The pace isn’t slowing anytime soon. The week of June 8th brings a fresh wave of additions including Day One release Solarpunk, boxing sim Undisputed, the hugely popular Persona 5 Royal, along with Beastro, Frog Sqwad and Day One Game Preview title Starseeker: Astroneer Expeditions. The following week adds another Day One launch in Junkster. We’ll be sure to remind you when those games drop.
