More games arrive – and leave – on Game Pass

As December rolls on, Game Pass continues to deliver a dynamic selection of games, with new adventures arriving and others sadly departing. This week is no exception, so let’s take a look at the latest changes hitting the subscription service across both Xbox and PC.

New Arrivals

There are three games landing on Game Pass this week, with one of the biggest games of the year amongst them. The other two shouldn’t be sniffed at either…

Indiana Jones and the Great Circle – Cloud, PC, and Xbox Series X|S – December 9th

Get ready to don your fedora and crack the whip as the legendary Indiana Jones returns in a brand new adventure!

Already available through the Premium Edition, it now lands in Standard form, straight into Games Pass as Indiana Jones and the Great Circle throws you into a globe-trotting quest filled with ancient mysteries, perilous traps, and thrilling action.

You’ll get to explore exotic locations, uncover hidden artifacts, and face off against dangerous foes as you race to uncover the secrets of the Great Circle.

Wildfrost – Cloud, Console, and PC – December 10th

Wildfrost comes to Xbox and Game Pass after previously having kicked around on other formats (Steam for instance), running as a charming and challenging tactical roguelike deckbuilder. Journey through a world consumed by eternal winter, building a unique deck of adorable card companions and elemental items to defeat the Wildfrost.

With each run, choose a leader from various tribes, each with distinct playstyles. Explore a frozen landscape, rescuing companions, collecting treasures, and customising your deck with powerful charms. Master the dynamic counter system to strategically plan your attacks and defenses.

But between those runs comes the opportunity to develop the hub town of Snowdwell, unlocking new cards, challenges, and events. Sound good? Wildfrost could well be a bit of a must-play for fans of deckbuilding and roguelike adventures.

For the King II – Cloud, Console, and PC – December 12th

Another Day One Game Pass drop is For the King II.

For The King II is a challenging blend of tabletop and roguelike RPG where you fight to overthrow a tyrannical queen. Following on from the original For the King from back in 2019, this time around you’ll get to take in a procedurally generated world, either solo or with up to three friends in co-op.

The game features a campaign with over 30 hours of gameplay, divided into five interconnected adventures. If your party falls, you’ll return stronger with improved starting gear. For an extra challenge, try the “Dark Carnival” infinite dungeon mode.

And the combat is turn-based, taking place on a new Battle Grid, adding a layer of strategic depth to positioning and movement. With its beautiful art style, diverse environments, and high replayability, For The King II will attempt to seal the adventure deal, appealing to RPG fans seeking a unique and challenging experience.

Departing Games

As always, some games must leave the service to make way for new arrivals. Be sure to check out these departing titles before they disappear on December 15th:

From the heart-pounding horror of Amnesia: The Bunker to the open-world racing thrills of Forza Horizon 4, there’s a diverse range of games departing Game Pass this coming week. We’re mostly going to miss Rise of the Tomb Raider, but let us know what you’ll be cramming before they leave on the 15th.

And don’t forget, as the Game Pass library continues to evolve, we’ll continue to be here each week to keep you updated on all the latest additions and departures. Now, go and download Indy’s newest adventure…
