Bounty Star – coming to Game Pass and more this October

The dust is settling on a firm release date, and a unique new adventure is ready to power up – and it’ll be powering up on Game Pass as a day one drop.

Annapurna Interactive and DINOGOD have announced that their highly anticipated 3D action game, Bounty Star, will launch on October 23rd, 2025. The game is coming to Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC, and in a huge announcement for subscribers, it will be available day one with Xbox Game Pass.

A brand-new gameplay trailer has been released alongside the news, giving us a fresh look at the game’s surprising and compelling blend of high-octane mech combat and cozy homesteading.

A New Frontier for a Celebrated Publisher

Annapurna Interactive has built an incredible reputation for publishing some of the most unique and critically acclaimed narrative experiences in gaming, from the cycling joys of Wheel World, to the heartfelt mystery of What Remains of Edith Finch and the cosmic exploration of Outer Wilds.

With Bounty Star, they are venturing into a new and exciting territory, blending their signature focus on character-driven stories with explosive, customisable mech action.

Bounty Star is set in the Red Expanse, a post-post-apocalyptic version of the American Southwest. You will take on the role of Clem, a broken but powerful ex-soldier and expert mech pilot. Haunted by her past, Clem is attempting to shed the guilt and shame of her time at war by starting a new life as a bounty hunter, trying to become a legitimate force for good in this harsh and unforgiving land.

Mech Mayhem Meets Homesteading

The core of the game is a fascinating and unexpected mix of two completely different genres.

When you’re out on a bounty, you’ll be piloting your powerful, customisable mech in over-the-shoulder 3D action. You can outfit your machine for any encounter, equipping it with a host of different weapons, including, heavy high-powered melee weapons, steam-powered hydraulic siege weapons, explosive firearms, and more.

Farming and Base Building

When you’re not out hunting bounties, you’ll be building your home. The other half of the game involves deep base-building mechanics.

You will need to build out your own homestead, setting up water and power supply lines, growing and cooking food, producing your own ammunition and fuel for your mech, and even raising animals.

A unique and beautiful adventure is saddling up for launch. With its compelling blend of brutal mech combat and peaceful, restorative farming, Bounty Star is poised to be another unforgettable experience from Annapurna Interactive.

The hunt begins on October 23rd.

I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore.
