Your Dream Holiday Just Took A Wrong Turn
The holiday is over, and all that’s left is the drive home. Unfortunately, a detour sends your group deep into Mabutts Valley – a place with a reputation for swallowing up travellers who never make it back.
From that point on, simply reaching Route 65 becomes the objective.
The RV itself becomes the star of the show as you battle rough terrain, unexpected hazards and a world that’s determined to stop your journey. Whether you’re playing solo or with friends, every decision revolves around keeping both the vehicle and its passengers in one piece.
A Road Trip That Demands Teamwork
While driving is obviously important, there’s much more going on inside the camper.
One player might be behind the wheel while someone else manages supplies, repairs damage or keeps everyone alive with burgers, antidotes and the occasional EpiPen. You’ll also need to master the RV’s physics-based front and rear winches, using them to pull yourselves over obstacles or out of situations that looked impossible just moments earlier.
It’s the sort of co-op experience where communication quickly becomes just as important as driving skill. And judging by the Steam reception, this is one you won’t want to miss.
A Fresh Spin On The Cosy Survival Formula
Although RV There Yet? introduces more danger than many games in the genre, it shares some DNA with recent road trip adventures. It brings to mind Outbound, which we reviewed with a 3.5/5 score, describing it as “a cozy game… much of which comes together well, albeit slowly.“
RV There Yet? appears to take us on a similar road-trip, but injects far more chaos, asking players to balance exploration, survival, vehicle maintenance and co-operative problem-solving as they inch towards home.
