Xbox Game Pass – adding new games

The Xbox Game Pass catalogue is launching into the holiday season with a thrilling blend of nostalgia and narrative depth as new games hit the service.

We’re trading in slow-burn survival for high-stakes action and mystery this week, as the highly anticipated Marvel Cosmic Invasion lands today, alongside the emotional adventure Lost Records: Bloom & Rage.

This fantastic duo ensures Game Pass subscribers have distinct adventures to dive into immediately.

So what are the new universes joining the library this coming week? Get your eyes on these…

Marvel Cosmic Invasion (Cloud, Console, Handheld, and PC) – December 1st

Get ready for an electrifying, pixel-perfect beat ’em up that is hitting Game Pass today!

Marvel Cosmic Invasion is a vibrant, retro brawler crafted by the acclaimed teams at Tribute Games and Dotemu, offering a pure love letter to the 90s era of comic action.

The villain Annihilus has launched an unprecedented cosmic attack, forcing an unlikely alliance between heroes like Spider-Man, Wolverine, and cosmic heavyweights like Phyla-Vell. You’ll choose two heroes for each stage and utilise the strategic Cosmic Swap tag-team system to switch instantly, unleashing powerful, tactical combo attacks.

Supporting local and online play with a drop-in/drop-out system across Cloud, Console, Handheld, and PC, this is a stellar co-op adventure. So much so that we’ve already included it in our most anticipated games for December list, with a full review to follow soon.

There’s full Play Anywhere support with this one too.

Lost Records: Bloom & Rage (Cloud, PC, and Xbox Series X|S) – December 2nd

Prepare for an emotional and twist-filled mystery from DON’T NOD, the studio behind Life is Strange.

Lost Records: Bloom & Rage throws you into a dual-timeline narrative, starting with the defining summer of 1995. Follow four high school girls who form a punk band and share a secret stemming from a strange, life-changing event.

The game forces you to navigate between the girls as teens and their reunion as adults in 2022, piecing together what truly happened in Velvet Cove. The gameplay features lifelike dialogue interactions and a camcorder mechanic to explore and capture secrets.

Our review praised its narrative structure, with Tape 1 – Bloom earning a 4.5/5 for pushing the genre forward, and Tape 2 – Rage receiving a 4/5 for its compelling emotional themes.

If you haven’t played Lost Records yet, the drop into Game Pass pretty much demands it.

December Outlook & Weekly Game Pass Summary

The start of December is focused entirely on quality, bringing two massive titles to the subscription service. We will keep you updated on any upcoming departures or future additions confirmed by Xbox HQ, but for now, it’s these which we know about.

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore. Gamertag is neil363, feel free to add me to your list.
