Game Pass leavers include FIFA 20, Jurassic World Evolution and two others

It’s the end of the month, which means payday, and a sad goodbye to several titles on Game Pass. There’s a couple of biggies departing, with FIFA 20 (Console and PC), Jurassic World Evolution (Console and Cloud), Last Stop (Cloud, Console and PC) and MotoGP 20 (Cloud, Console and PC) all making way for – you would hope – some even more esteemed games being added to the subscription in July.

FIFA 20, if we’re being honest, isn’t a huge loss. Earlier this month, FIFA 22 was slotted onto the service (and on EA Play, we should note), so the superior, more up-to-date game remains. This is a common pattern for EA Sports games: the two-year old game gets replaced with the current version (albeit, soon to be un-current, as FIFA 23 launches in a couple of months).

The big loss, in our view, is Frontier’s dinosaur park-building sim, Jurassic World Evolution. Unfortunately timed to be removed from the service just as the latest Jurassic World film hits the cinemas, this may well smart for a few players. Still, its sequel – aptly titled Jurassic World Evolution 2 – is still on Game Pass, so life, uh, finds a way.

We enjoyed our time with Last Stop, another game leaving today. From Virginia developers Variable State and published by Annapurna Interactive, this was a slice-of-life narrative game that followed three protagonists as supernatural shenanigans started to happen to them. There’s a touch of Freaky Friday-style body-swapping, a serial killer neighbour, and some shady government antics going on, and it’s your job to piece together the narrative. It didn’t quite have the dramatic heft of Virginia, but we would still recommend it.

Finally, one of the umpteen MotoGP games, in this case MotoGP 20, has also left the service. Now, we aren’t motorbike fans, so we’re going to lean on the review to inform you of what you’re missing. Ahem. “With multiple game modes, a career which is as deep and immersive as you want it to be, and an online offering which has so far worked flawlessly, there has hardly been a wheel misplaced in the development of this latest racer. We then handed it a 4.5/5, which is all rather impressive.

What’s left for Game Pass in June? Well, today’s the last day of the month, so it’d be a push to expect anything more today. Next month, however, promises to hold some goodies. We’re still waiting for official announcements, but we have reassurances that July will bring Far Cry 5 on July 1st, Last Call BBS on July 5th, Matchpoint Tennis Championships on July 7th, As Dusk Falls on July 19th and Immortality on July 26th (those two latter games feature on our Up Next piece for July). You can be sure that more will be added to the list.

In the meantime, are you excited by the promise of July’s games? Or are you mostly miserable that FIFA 20 has gone? Let us know in the comments or on our social channels.
