March is only just getting started, yet Xbox Game Pass is already flexing with a number of new games set to land on the subscription service this week.
It’s a good week all round, one in which we see Final Fantasy III, Kingdom Come: Deliverance II, and Planet of Lana II all join the service – spanning classic JRPG roots, gritty medieval realism and cinematic sci-fi puzzle adventure.
And it’s only the start of the month, so we’re expecting an official update from the Xbox and Game Pass teams regarding further additions soon. We’ll update this piece once news emerges.
For now, between nostalgic pixel remasters, sprawling historical epics and emotional companion-led storytelling, there’s something dropping into Game Pass this week for just about every kind of player.

Final Fantasy III
The Pixel Remaster edition of Final Fantasy III arrives on March 3rd, joining Final Fantasy and Final Fantasy II already available on the service.
This beautifully refreshed 2D version revives the 1990 classic with updated pixel art, reworked audio, and modernised quality-of-life features like auto-battle, adjustable XP multipliers and optional random encounter toggles.
Most importantly, it reintroduces the franchise’s iconic job system, allowing players to freely swap between a variety of styles.
If you’ve been meaning to dive back into Final Fantasy’s roots, this is your moment.
Kingdom Come: Deliverance II
For many, this is hotly anticipated as a Game Pass addition. And if you haven’t yet played it, this is about as no-brainer as you can get.
It also hits on March 3rd as Kingdom Come: Deliverance II, becomes playable across Cloud, Xbox Series X|S and PC via Game Pass Ultimate, Premium and PC Game Pass.
Following the original Kingdom Come: Deliverance, once again stepping into the boots of Henry, players are thrown into the chaos of 15th century Bohemia. This is a world of civil war, political tension and deeply personal revenge.
Real-time, first-person combat returns with brutal steel-on-steel encounters, alongside blacksmithing, archery and open-world exploration across bustling cities and sweeping countryside.
In our 4.5/5 review, we said: “Kingdom Come: Deliverance II builds upon the foundations already in place, offering a more polished experience with improved visuals, a larger world, and a deeper narrative… you’ll find countless hours of entertainment.”
This is a more refined sequel in which narrative ambitions are dialled up. And this week it’s available to Game Pass subscribers.
Planet of Lana II
March 5th brings something altogether quieter – but no less powerful. Thinking about it, this could be one of the most powerful, tugging of games you’ll play this year. Thunderful rarely miss on the publishing front.
Planet of Lana II launches Day One on Game Pass Ultimate, playable on Cloud, Xbox Series X|S and PC. This sequel reunites Lana and her loyal companion Mui in a hand-painted world where nature and technology exist in uneasy tension.
There’s no spoken dialogue. Instead, meaning emerges through movement, music and environmental storytelling. Lana is older now, more agile, with expanded traversal abilities like wall jumps and fluid platforming that weave naturally into environmental puzzles.
And of course, the emotional core remains companionship.
We praised the original Planet of Lana with a 4.5/5 score, calling it: “A supremely well told tale that comes complete with brilliant visuals and an orchestral soundscape to die for…”
Early signs suggest the sequel aims even higher, delivering a standalone story that deepens the world while welcoming new players. It’s why we’ve included Planet of Lana II in our best games of March article. our full review of Planet of Lana II is on the way.
A Week That Covers Every Mood
It’s rare to see such variety land in the same Game Pass window. A 16-bit era JRPG classic. A sprawling medieval RPG sequel. A cinematic puzzle-platformer steeped in emotion. There’s no doubt, Game Pass continues to make genre-hopping dangerously easy.
