Xbox Game Pass – new in, old out

It’s another busy week for Game Pass, whether that be of the Xbox or PC variety, with a fresh batch of titles joining the library and a handful of others preparing to depart.

Join us as we take a closer look at the comings and goings in the world of Game Pass for this week – one of which is landing as a Day One Game Pass launch.

New Arrivals

Nine Sols – Cloud, PC, and Xbox Series X|S – November 26th

Day One Game Pass launch, anyone?

Prepare to be captivated by Nine Sols, a stunning hand-drawn 2D action-platformer that seamlessly blends Sekiro-inspired combat with a rich tapestry of Asian fantasy. Step into the shoes of Yi, a vengeful hero awakened to slay the 9 Sols, powerful rulers of a forsaken realm.

Journey through the mesmerising Taopunk world of New Kunlun, where Eastern mythology intertwines with cyberpunk aesthetics. Master the art of deflection-based combat, unleashing devastating attacks with martial arts, Taoist talismans, and Yi’s godly bow. And then face off against colossal bosses in challenging encounters that will push your skills to the limit.

In Nine Sols you’ll get to explore the interconnected regions of New Kunlun, uncovering the secrets of a lost civilisation and encountering intriguing NPCs who offer valuable upgrades and new abilities. You’ll also be given the opportunity to immerse yourself in a visually stunning world brought to life through meticulously crafted environments and fluid animations.

As a Game Pass Day One drop, Nine Sols on Xbox seems super appealing.

Aliens: Dark Descent – Cloud, Console, and PC – November 27th

The Xenomorphs are back, and they’re deadlier than ever. Aliens: Dark Descent is a squad-based, single-player action game that pits you against a terrifying alien outbreak on Planet Lethe. Command your Colonial Marines, deploy strategic abilities, and fight for survival against the relentless Xenomorph threat.

Having first launched on Xbox in Mid-2023, Aliens: Dark Descent will cover all the shooty-shooty feels that you need from your video games.

A 4.5/5 review score should seal the deal, especially when that review concludes with ‘If you like Aliens or strategy in real time, Aliens: Dark Descent is the game for you. Don’t come to it as a brainless blast-a-thon though – you will need to be cunning to finish off the threat!

Departing Games

Sadly, it’s time to say goodbye to a few Game Pass favourites as they depart the service on November 30th. If you’ve had your eye on any of these, be sure to give them a try before they’re gone. We’re mostly going to miss the adventures found in Spirit of the North, but it’s also sad to see the brilliant Remnant: From the Ashes shifting out for the time being…

  • Conan Exiles – Cloud, Console, and PC
  • Coral Island – PC
  • Hello Neighbor 2 – Cloud, Console, and PC
  • Remnant: From The Ashes – Cloud, Console, and PC
  • Rollerdrome – Cloud, Console, and PC
  • Soccer Story – Cloud, Console, and PC
  • Spirit of the North – Cloud, Console, and PC
  • The Walking Dead: The Final Season – PC
  • While the Iron’s Hot – Cloud, Console, and PC

From brutal survival in Conan Exiles to the stylish action of Rollerdrome, there’s a diverse range of departing titles to enjoy. Be sure to check them out while you still can. They won’t be there much longer, after which you’ll need to open the wallet in order to play them.

As always, Game Pass continues to deliver a dynamic and ever-evolving library of games. Stay tuned to our pages for all the latest news and updates on the world of Xbox Game Pass and PC Game Pass as further new games get revealed soon.
