TCG Card Shop Simulator (Game Preview) – February 24th

Available on Game Pass Ultimate, Premium and PC Game Pass – playable via Cloud, Xbox Series X|S, Handheld and PC.

Ever fancied running your own trading card empire? TCG Card Shop Simulator drops into Game Preview this week, letting players design, manage and expand their very own tabletop haven.

This is very much a work-in-progress experience, but the hook is clear, even well ahead of full launch.

You’ll stock shelves with booster packs, monitor trends, host in-store tournaments and even crack open packs yourself to chase rare pulls. And you should find that the economy loop is simple but addictive – sell high-value cards for profit or hold onto them to complete your own collection.

As a Game Preview title, expect systems to evolve over time. But if you’ve ever dreamed of turning cards into cold hard cash, this is your shot.

Dice A Million – February 25th

Available on Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass – playable on PC.

If your brain lights up at the sight of absurdly large numbers, Dice A Million might be your next obsession.

This roguelike deckbuilder is built around one core objective; to roll your way to a million points and escape a mysterious facility.

With more than 120 dice types and over 80 passive rings to experiment with, synergy is everything. Stack the right effects and the numbers spiral out of control. You should know the drill by now.

Bosses and escalating debts ensure that Dice A Million is not just about luck. Build cleverly, break the system, and push your dice bag to its absolute limit. It’s chaotic, experimental and unapologetically number-driven.

Towerborne – February 26th

Available on Game Pass Ultimate, Premium and PC Game Pass – playable on Console, Handheld and PC.

The headline act this week is Towerborne, launching in its full release form after having spent time in Game Preview and early access.

Developed by Stoic and published by Xbox Game Studios, this side-scrolling action RPG brawler puts players in the role of an Ace; an immortal warrior reborn to defend the Belfry.

Combat blends classic combo-based brawling with RPG progression. Gear builds matter. Timing matters. And whether you venture solo or team up with up to three other players, the combat flow rewards creativity.

Beyond the fists and blades lies a full story campaign exploring the crumbling world beyond the City of Numbers. Offline progression and online co-op flexibility make it easy to jump in and out without losing momentum.

We’ll follow with full review, but Towerborne has been a game we’ve been hands-on with during the preview period.

For Game Pass subscribers, this is arguably the biggest addition of the week.

Leaving Game Pass On February 28th

As always for the end of the month, Game Pass subscribers need to prepare for some departures. The following titles will exit the service at the end of the month, and there are some big names in here too:

  • Monster Train (Cloud, Console, PC) – 4.5/5 score – ‘It says a lot about a game when writing its review makes us want to close the laptop, boot up the Xbox and return to play it. So it is with Monster Train on Xbox, which chucks out a lot of Slay the Spire’s baggage to create a ride that’s more breakneck and exhilarating.
  • Expeditions: A MudRunner Game (Cloud, Console, PC) – 3.5/5 score – ‘As it stands, there is something missing from Expeditions: A MudRunner Game. Whether that be the online co-op (due out later), a lack of meaningful activity in Free Roam or just something to spice up the lifeless main campaign; it feels a bit empty right now.
  • Injustice 2 (Cloud, Console, PC) – ‘Injustice 2 is accessible to all, introduces a diverse roster of characters and provides plenty to do. Don’t delay, join the Injustice League today!
  • Middle-earth: Shadow of War (Cloud, Console, PC) – ‘Middle-earth: Shadow of War has taken the addictive nature of Shadow of Mordor, thrown in various new beasts, creatures and Orc types to enhance the experience and made sure there’s a shed load of stuff to do across the massive regions within.

If any of these have been lingering in your backlog, now’s the time to wrap them up.

A Week Of Variety

This week’s Game Pass refresh highlights exactly why the service remains so compelling. A niche simulator in preview, a number-crunching roguelike on PC, and a full-scale Xbox-published action RPG all land within days of each other. It’s a great time to be gaming on Game Pass, no?

Next Up For Game Pass?

And the games don’t stop there. Expect to be playing Final Fantasy III on Game Pass come March 3rd, as well as the hotly anticipated arrival of Kingdom Come: Deliverance II on the same day.
