Vampire: The Masquerade – Swansong Xbox

This latest title in the Vampire: The Masquerade series is edging closer and closer to release. To keep the hype train moving, NACON and Big Bad Wolf Studio have unveiled their gameplay trailer. Without any further ado, let’s take a look at the gameplay for Vampire: The Masquerade – Swansong.

The secret society known as the Boston Camarilla may not be as secret as the members hoped. That is because members keep being attacked by mysterious assassins. The Prince of the Boston Camarilla, Hazel Iversen, has employed the services of three vampires to assist in catching the assailants: Galeb Bazory, Emem Louis and Leysha.

In Swansong, players will be visiting a variety of locations and crime scenes trying to get to the bottom of what is going on. They must do this whilst keeping their vampire tendencies at bay. Should they need to feed and recharge their powers, the trio must do so away from the eyes of onlookers and keep ‘The Masquerade’ going.

Each of the three characters can be fully customised. Much like Big Bad Wolf Studio’s The Council, you can level up and be more proficient in some areas over others. Each member also has a unique power as detailed in the trailer: Leysha can hide herself from others, Emem can reach areas others cannot and Galeb and control those around him. Remember though: use these too much and the hunger for blood will affect your ability to investigate properly.

During this “narrative RPG”, even the combat is done during dialogue. Known as ‘Confrontations’ you must find the right arguments and retorts using your powers to get them to reveal their secrets. Your choices and actions will have a direct consequence on the story with branching storylines.

Vampires: The Masquerage – Swansong is due to arrive on Xbox, PC, Nintendo Switch and PlayStation on the 19th May. Whilst we await the release of this, why not check out Vampire: The Masquerade – Shadows of New York or Vampire: The Masquerade – Coteries of New York on the Xbox Store. And stick with us as we edge closer and closer to the release.
