Whilst it’s lovely to see the original Gears of War making its way to Xbox One via the back-compat feature, the biggest news of all is that you could soon be playing the full Gears of War series on Microsoft’s most powerful console!
Today, Xbox and The Coalition have announced that those purchasing Gears of War Ultimate Edition on Xbox One, will for a limited time be able to get hold of Gears of War, Gears of War 2, Gears of War 3 and Gears of War Judgment. To get your hands on them, just play the Ultimate Edition between Aug 25th- Dec 31st 2015 and you’ll get access to them when they unlock later this year.
The Ultimate Edition of Gears of War will bring you the full remastered original game, new maps, new modes and new missions, along with early access to the Gears of War 4 multiplayer beta, new cheevos and an additional difficulty level.
With all GoW titles becoming backwards compatible, you’ll be able to utilise the Xbox One features like Game DVR, Snap and screenshots all whilst playing with your friends on Live, no matter which Xbox console they are on!
