We all know that the eSports world is on the up and today Xbox have announced the Gears eSports Pro Circuit for Gears of War 4.

Launching in November 2016 and in tandem with The Coalition, the Gears Pro Circuit will allow Gears of War players the chance to compete in marquee live events around the world, putting themselves in the running to win up to $1million dollars in cash prizes. Operated by Major League Gaming and Gfinity, players will be able to earn Gears Pro Points by competing in MLG GameBattles online ladders, across daily and weekly tournaments.

Those points will in turn earn gamers a place on the international circuit with open LAN events running every 1-2 months, stopping at London, Paris, Columbus, Mexico City, and Las Vegas.

The following details how the marquee live events and prize pool breakdowns work:

Date City Partner Teams Prize Pool (USD)
November 25-27, 2016 Columbus, USA MLG 108+ $250,000
December 17-18, 2016 London, United Kingdom Gfinity 32 $100,000
Spring 2017 Mexico City, Mexico Gfinity 32 $75,000
Spring 2017 Columbus, USA MLG 16 $100,000
Spring/Summer 2017 Paris, France Gfinity 32 $75,000
Summer 2017 Las Vegas, USA MLG 108+ $250,000

If you’re interested and wish to show your support, Gears of War fans will also be able to purchase cosmetic digital in-game content. Gears eSports will also be able to collaborate with popular eSports team organisations to bring their brands into cosmetic digital in-game content that fans can wear and equip. Gears eSports also looks forward to working with local and grassroots tournament organisers on more events during the program where players can have additional opportunities to earn Gears Pro Points.

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore. Gamertag is neil363, feel free to add me to your list.
