Standby for a terrifying catastrophe… as the Gene Rain is proving fatal to many!
People are dropping like flies and a dystopia is forming – but all is not lost as the Death Squad, comprised of a number of human and robot characters who you will assume control of, are here to bring about the end of the Gene Rain era. To do this the heroes of the Death Squad will be travelling from the ruined city to the deep canyon and everywhere in between, shutting down the four wind towers across the environment and fighting off any enemy that dares to stand in the way.
With a choice of using one of nine weapons, three of which will be upgradeable, you will have to put your thinking cap on and select the optimum weapon for the job, with the enemies using a unique AI tree that opens up various behavioural patterns for you to deal with.
“Today the dystopian Gene Rain world opens up for Xbox One players, and we’re looking forward to recruiting more rebels in Europe at the end of the month,” says Kavka Wang, the Marketing Director at E-Home Entertainment Development. “Featuring incredible next-gen graphics and extreme TPS combat, Gene Rain expands the plot through new human narrative structures and delves deep into moral convictions as in how far you will go to achieve your goal.”
If you fancy adventuring through a post-apocalyptic landscape in pursuit of saving the human race, all the while enjoying an emotional and deep storyline, then Gene Rain is now available for Xbox One. Pick it up for $24.99 in the US or Germany on the Xbox Store – you can also find the game on PS4.
Those in the UK will need to wait a little longer to get their hands on Gene Rain. The word on the street is the 31st July, but we’ll be sure to confirm that come the time. Wherever you are though – keep an eye out for our review.
Edit: Gene Rain is now also available in the UK. Grab it for £19.99.
Game Description:
Gene Rain is a 3D third-person shooter game that follows the story of New Humans. Employing a linear storytelling narrative and next-gen metal art style, it offers a visually stunning adventure into a never-before-seen world. There are three in-game factions, each with its own beliefs and vision. The story begins at the start of tri-lateral conflict and players progress by completing missions through four different characters. Out of nine firearms in the game, four main ones are upgradable. Gene Rain’s scene design can be divided into four categories: devastated cities, sleepy towns, deep valleys and city nightscape. The game’s AI, with a wealth of perception and behavior data, make each enemy highly unique and, indeed, humanlike. There are more than a dozen enemies, each of them with their own character designs and behavior quirks. The game uses some 500 full-motion-capture movements to fully flesh out its characters, making for a truly exciting and immersive experience.
