The Outer Frontiers Await
Genopanic was first released on PC in May 2024, before receiving a port to Switch and PlayStation a year later. Now Xbox fans are the latest group to be given a dose of this mysterious 2D platforming adventure, in which you accompany a virtual dog and an AI cat-girl as you explore a dangerous space station.
It’s a weird premise, is all we are saying!
In what appears to be but is strictly not a Metroidvania, according to the developers, Genopanic will have you deploying a wide range of space-age weapons and gadgets, each usable against a different enemy, environmental obstacle, and more.
Throughout the game, you’ll also be collecting data disks from throughout the world, in order to upgrade your gear and unlock brand-new abilities.
Choose Your Own Adventure
As well as all the gameplay goodness to get involved with, Genopanic boasts a branching narrative throughout. As you progress through Genopanic, you’ll have the option to work towards one of four unique endings.
Or, of course, you could replay the game a few times for total completion!
