Should you be looking for a visually stunning steampunk RPG then Gestalt: Steam & Cinder looks set to deliver the goods. And whilst we’re looking at a launch of the game on Xbox One, PS4, Nintendo Switch and PC later in 2020, for now it’s well worth taking in the debut trailer that has been revealed.

Coming from Sold Out and Metamorphosis Games, Gestalt: Steam & Cinder has been inspired by the old classics – both 16 and 32-bit – to bring together tight 2D platforming and exhilarating combat with an engrossing narrative filled with conspiracy-laden intrigue, eccentric NPCs, dynamic side quests and choice-driven dialogue.

You can see how all this comes together in the debut trailer for Gestalt, or, from June 16th, can give it a little play over on Steam as part of the Steam Game Festival.

Gestalt: Steam & Cinder on Xbox One, PS4, Nintendo Switch and PC will allow you the opportunity to step into the boots of seasoned mercenary Aletheia and join a vibrant cast of characters as they find themselves embroiled in a conspiracy that threatens the very foundations of the steam-powered city of Canaan. Expect to brawl in the streets with members of a nefarious syndicate, smash through a mechanized army of Clockwork soldiers, and battle the elite Vanguard who serve the city’s corrupt nobility, the Comitium. And then you’ll want to fight for mankind’s survival and discover the dark truth at the heart of the Steam City’s founding.

“We have been thrilled with the community’s response to Gestalt: Steam & Cinder, so we’re really excited for more players to get their first taste of the game with this downloadable demo,” said Sarah Hoeksma, Marketing Director at Sold Out. “With gorgeous pixel art and a captivating narrative, we are keen for Gestalt: Steam & Cinder to become an indie favorite when it launches later this year.”

Take in that trailer right now and let us know what you think. And as soon as Gestalt: Steam & Cinder finds a concrete release date on Xbox One, PS4, Nintendo Switch and PC, we’ll be sure to let you know.
