It’s been a good few years since the original River City Girls roster rocked up onto PC and console, as Wayforward pushed out a labour of love to the gaming scene. Now though it’s time for those girls to hit back, with River City Girls 2.
Available today on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, PS5, Nintendo Switch and PC, River City Girls 2 will give you the opportunity to break out the baseball bats and to start practising the dabs once more in an all-new brawling beat ’em up which not only lets you get reacquainted with some old friends, but to get up close and personal with some newbies too.
River City Girls 2 is a bigger, better, brasher brawler, one in which Misako, Kyoko, Kunio and Riki rock up once more, this time joined by Marian and Provie, as they look to control the mean streets again.
Wandering the world, bashing back any foes that may come their way, in River City Girls 2 you should expect to be treated to a well worked follow of a game that we adore. In fact, we gave the original River City Girls a big 5/5 in review back in 2019, talking about the highly varied combat system and superbly vibrant presentation. Hopes are therefore extremely high for this follow-on.
With new moves, new items, more shops and foes than before, River City Girls 2 should meet the hype, even more so when you consider that the non-linear gameplay and chance to work a variety of techniques will keep things fresh.
