Someone might want to go and check on the folks at Skermunkel – developers of Booom-Slang! Their new twin-stick shooter is in two words… absolutely mental. Combining FMV footage with the most colourful of low-poly shooting chaos, this one comes with tons of fun to be had as you battle against your friends. It should also probably come with a substantial epilepsy warning, too.
Solo or Multiplayer?
Available now on Xbox, Booom-Slang! debuted on PC platforms earlier this year.
Whilst it is clear that this one was designed for frenetic multiplayer fun to be had, the game also contains an intricate Single-Player Journey mode, where you will face off against a number of enemies – kill all of them with the mad-cap weapons, power-ups and other abilities you have at your disposal, and hopefully you’ll make it to where the credits roll.
The real action is within the up-to-four players local multiplayer, that throws you and your mates into a top-down arena, and you’ll shoot the daylight out of each other, all the while as llamas, dinosaurs and whatever else Skermunkel can think of are chucked onto the battlefield. Why? Well, why not, seems to be the mantra in use here!

The Single-Player Journey mode puts you in the shoes of a new test subj- *ahem*, participant, tasked with overcoming the challenges set forth by the creator and showrunner of the Booom-Slang! festival, Conductor Chaos himself. You will need to defeat every creep this creep throws at you, bust through each trap he sets and use every single weapon and ability attained to it’s full ability to reach the end of this labyrinth of lunacy.
