Xbox Game Pass – 3 new additions this week

Three new games are set to land in your Game Pass inbox this week – and we think each and every one of them are well worth playing.

New Game Pass Additions

Should you have an Xbox or PC Game Pass subscription burning a hole in your wallet, then you’ll probably be looking for some new games to keep things fire. It’s that revolving door which ensures that Game Pass keeps fresh, keeping relevant with the gaming audiences that it feeds. And this week, that door welcomes in three new games, all very different to each other.

That should mean there is something in this little lot that will appeal. What do you think?

MLB The Show 24, October 2nd – Console – Game Pass Standard

MLB The Show 24 steps up to the plate with new features and immersive gameplay. You’ll get to delve into the history of the Negro Leagues with the second season of Storylines, narrated by Bob Kendrick.

You’ll also be able to guide female athletes to greatness in Road to the Show, showcasing their skills in the reworked MLB Draft Combine. Franchise Mode brings further gameplay options, empowering you to lead your team to victory your way.

And you’ll also get the chance to relive Derek Jeter’s legendary career through interactive Storylines, featuring exclusive interviews and iconic moments.

Does that all work? You can find out with MLB The Show 24 as it drops onto Game Pass Standard.

Open Roads, October 2nd – Console – Game Pass Standard

Another landing on Game Pass Standard is Open Roads.

Open Roads follows Tess and her mother Opal as they embark on a road trip sparked by the discovery of cryptic notes and letters hinting at buried family secrets and a long-lost treasure.

Their journey leads them to explore abandoned family properties, forcing Opal to confront painful memories she’s tried to forget.

With performances by Keri Russel and Kaitlyn Dever, the game features a unique visual style combining detailed environments and hand-animated characters. Players experience the story through Tess, engaging in interactive dialogues that reveal hidden truths and deepen the bond between mother and daughter.

Along the way, they’ll enjoy classic road trip moments, like tuning the car radio and sharing conversations, all while uncovering a mystery that spans generations. And it really comes together nicely too – as our 4/5 review tells…

Sifu, October 2nd – Cloud, Console, and PC – Game Pass Ultimate, PC Game Pass, Game Pass Standard

Sifu plunges players into a thrilling Kung Fu revenge saga where death is merely a setback.

Armed with a mystical amulet that revives them at the cost of aging, players must master the art of combat to overcome countless enemies and unravel the mystery behind their family’s murder.

The game’s dynamic environments and challenging combat demand adaptability and precision, while the free Arenas expansion offers even more opportunities to hone your skills and face thrilling new challenges. Through relentless training and perseverance, players can unlock devastating techniques and ultimately achieve mastery of Pak Mei Kung Fu.

Need to know more? We’ve got a review of Sifu on Xbox that just so happens to have a 4.5/5 score at the end. Give it a read.

Three games of decent quality eh? Head over to the Xbox Store right now and pick each one of them up.

What’s to come with Game Pass?

But what’s next for Game Pass? Well, next week allows us the chance to welcome in a couple more games in the form of Mad Streets (Oct 7th) and Inscryption (Oct 10th). The week after that sees a number up and out from the service, as we lose five games on the 15th…
