Get ready to shoot your way to victory as the Mega Man X Legacy Collection 1 and 2 arrives

The Mega Man collections just keep on coming and this time around it’s the turn of the Mega Man X series. Boasting some of the best games in the series and some of the best platforming to ever graces consoles, The Mega Man X Legacy Collection 1 and 2 certainly hits the spot for fans eagerly awaiting this re-release.

The collections include all eight games from the X series and the first two in particular are shining examples of what a great developer can achieve. Simple mechanics of jumping, shooting and slashing will see you prevail here… but don’t expect an easy ride as the X series can be one of the most challenging platforming series out there.

The game also introduces two extra modes; Rookie Hunter mode allows you to drop the difficulty of the game allowing you to experience it at a less frustrating level than originally intended. X Challenge meanwhile allows you to pick three weapons and face off against a range of bosses in what is essentially a Mega Man boss rush mode.

If that wasn’t enough there’s also a museum with many nostalgic Mega Man displays and all sorts of facts about the games and the development that went in to them. You also receive a copy of the Mega Man prequel film that details the origins of Sigma, the villain of the series.

The Mega Man X Legacy Collection 1 and 2 is available here right now for £31.99, or if you’re quick you can save £3.20 on that. Alternatively, if you wish to pick and choose your Mega Man X poison, then both Collection 1 and Collection 2 are available as individual £15.99 purchases too. Those on PS4, PC and Nintendo Switch have seemingly not been left out either.

Game description:

Own all eight titles in the epic, action-packed Mega Man X saga! Test your skills in the new X Challenge mode, which pits players against two deadly bosses at once. Explore a huge museum filled with rare production art, catalogs of classic merchandise, nostalgic commercials, and more. Includes individual downloads for Mega Man X Legacy Collection and Mega Man X Legacy Collection 2.
