Find your dancing shoes pronto as there’s a new competitive music game on the horizon, Super Dodgeball Beats, and it’s going to put your rhythm to the test. Playstack and Final Boss Games have just announced the release date for its arrival on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch and PC.
Inspired by classics like Elite Beat Agents, Rhythm Paradise and even Taiko no Tatsujin, Super Dodgeball Beats tells the story of a rag-tag group of friends living in a world where dodgeball hysteria has hit its peak and taken over the world of mainstream sport. Hence, these failing school mates decide to form a team and enter their very first tournament, which they actually end up winning.
Looking to capitalise on the victory, their next goal is to be National Major League champions. Unfortunately though, that means they’ll have to defeat teams comprised of blood-thirsty vampires, electric-infused pensioners and mutated aliens in order to win the title and fulfil their dreams. Throughout these encounters, players will need to input correctly-timed moves through classic rhythm gameplay; albeit with a twist that sees you battling opponents with an array of power-ups and super moves, from grenades to donuts!
Featuring a unique manga art style and 18 unique tracks that pay homage to its Japanese inspiration, fans of the rhythm/music genre are sure to find their beat in the Super Dodgeball Beats’s single-player story mode and local multiplayer offering.
Super Dodgeball Beats is expected launch on 22nd August for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch and PC, priced at £11.99.
