It seems like the whole ‘anti-gravity racing’ idea is fast making a comeback and today we see a new game throw its hat into the ring, attempting to become top racing dog. That game? LIGHTFIELD!
Available right now on Xbox One, LIGHTFIELD is a futuristic racer that comes with a bit of a parkour twist. Whilst race tracks are put before you, how you manage to make your way through those is pretty much up to you. You’ll find yourself racing on walls, through tunnels and across sci-fi architecture as you attempt to hit numerous checkpoints and cross the finish line before your fellow competitors.
Full race modes with varying difficulties are available, as is a fast paced time trial mode and the option to slow things down a bit and just head off on a bit of an exploration and discovery mission. With online options, and local multiplayer split screen capabilities to compliment the solo campaign, LIGHTFIELD most certainly seems to have a bit of everything. Drop a rather hardcore, particularly brilliant electro soundtrack on top, and you’ve got a racer you should be enjoying for some time to come.
Our full review is due for arrival real soon, but should you be tempted already then make sure you pay the Xbox Games Store a little visit. The usual £15.99 price tag is discounted for the first couple of weeks from launch too.
