Alphadia III
Alphadia III – out now!

The next chapter in the beloved JRPG saga from the masters of the genre has just been written, but this time, we’re going back to where it all began.

Alphadia III, is a new prequel story and this beautiful fantasy RPG from developer Exe Create and the prolific publisher KEMCO is now available on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation, Nintendo Switch, and PC for ÂŁ16.74.

Prepare to journey back to the time of the Energi War, in a deep, turn-based adventure that introduces a host of new mechanics to the classic formula.

The Energi War

Alphadia III takes place before the events of the first two games, during the devastating Energi War—a conflict fueled by humanity’s lust for life energy. In the midst of this chaos, an energi clone named Alfonso begins to question everything. With nothing but his doubts and his determination, he sets off on a journey to uncover meaning in a world consumed by power.

Check out the beautiful fantasy adventure in the official launch trailer…

A Classic Formula with New Twists

At its heart, this is a classic JRPG with deep turn-based combat. This new entry introduces a host of new mechanics, including powerful SP Skills that can shift the tide of battle, and new strategic Arrays to expand your options.

A new Energi Crock system allows you to put your unused items into a special crock to create Energi Elements, which can then be exchanged for rare items. In a fantastic new twist, you can also upgrade your ship into a seaplane during your journey, which even has its own shops on board! On top of all that, classic features like the mission board and the arena also make their return.

Like a Comfy Pair of JRPG Slippers

We are huge fans of the Alphadia series. When we played the previous collection, we were completely won over by its classic charm. In our glowing 4/5 review of Alphadia I & II, we said:

And while familiarity can breed contempt, in this case it is more like settling down and slipping on a comfy pair of slippers, before taking in a couple of great stories.

Alphadia III looks set to be another wonderfully comfy pair of slippers for JRPG fans to slip into.

A Breakdown of the Adventure

  • The Prequel to the Acclaimed Alphadia Saga: Journey back to the time of the Energi War.
  • Deep Turn-Based Combat: Unleash powerful SP Skills and utilize strategic Arrays.
  • New and Classic Features: Includes the new Energi Crock system, an upgradeable seaplane, and the return of the mission board and arena.
  • Charming Pixel Graphics.

A new quest has begun, but its roots are in a war that started it all. If you’re a fan of classic, charming JRPGs, Alphadia III is ready for you on the Xbox Store right now, playable on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S. It’s also on PC, PlayStation and Nintendo Switch.

What truth awaits at the end of your path?

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore. Gamertag is neil363, feel free to add me to your list.
