Crossy Road Castle – now on Xbox, PlayStation, Switch

Think back a few years and you’ll remember a world dominated by Crossy Road. It was everywhere, eating up our time, serving our addictions. But now Crossy Road has evolved into an endless tower climbing platformer in the form of Crossy Road Castle on Xbox, PlayStation and Nintendo Switch.

If truth be told, Crossy Road Castle is not a ‘new’ game. For this has been doing the rounds on Apple Arcade for a little while already. Now it comes to console, as the Hipster Whale developed experience looks to draw in swathes of new gamers.

Crossy Road is back – with a Castle

Hipstar Whale were previously behind one of our most favourite of games – the time-sink that was PAC-MAN 256. If Crossy Road Castle on console can evoke even a tenth of the joy that game allowed, it’s going to be on for a winner. And spoiler alert, whilst our full review of Crossy Road Castle is on the way, our time with it has proven this to be a game that is utterly endearing.

Priced at ÂŁ16.74, Crossy Road Castle will see you attempting to climb the castle walls, either alone, or with others, making the most of some local and online multiplayer and cooperative fun. It’s a game that comes with all the usual Crossy Road characters we have grown to love, as you help them navigate through various stages, full of traps, obstacles and items.

With coins to collect, prizes to win and challenges to tick off, this is one that will keep you going for some time.

And yep, you know that once that Crossy Road Castle addiction hits, it’ll be extremely difficult to shift it out again.

Key game features

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore. Gamertag is neil363, feel free to add me to your list.
