A new chapter in innovative, heartfelt storytelling is about to be written.
Developer Nice Dream and publisher Skybound Games have officially announced that their next title, Goodnight Universe, will launch on November 11th, 2025.
Goodnight Universe is the spiritual successor to the BAFTA-winning Before Your Eyes, and it is coming to Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC.
Revealed with a new teaser trailer, this award-winning new game promises another deeply emotional journey, this time with an expanded “camera as controller” mode and a star-studded Hollywood cast.
A Psychic Baby’s Tale
Goodnight Universe tells the incredible story of Isaac, a 6-month-old baby who is developing mysterious psychic powers.
The game’s narrative revolves around Isaac’s deepest desire: to be loved and accepted by his family. However, his emerging abilities attract the unwanted attention of a secretive tech corporation that wants to capture him for their own nefarious purposes.
The Camera is Your Controller
Building on the innovation of their previous title, Nice Dream is once again utilizing camera-based technology to create a unique and immersive experience.
On camera-compatible platforms (we could do with Kinect in our lives eh!?), Goodnight Universe features a “camera as controller” mode, but this time it is being used in new and inventive ways that go beyond the blink mechanic of Before Your Eyes.
This will allow players to interact with the world and Isaac’s psychic powers in a way that is both intuitive and deeply personal.
A Hollywood-Calibre Cast
To bring this emotional story to life, the developers have assembled an incredible, star-studded voice cast. You’ll find that Lewis Pullman (Thunderbolts, Top Gun Maverick) will voice the main character, Isaac, whilst Kerri Kenney-Silver (Reno 911), Al Madrigal (The Daily Show), and Tessa Espinola (S.W.A.T) will voice Isaac’s family.
The supporting cast is equally impressive, featuring the talents of Beau Bridges (Matlock, Homeland), Timothy Simons (VEEP), and Sarah Burns (Barry).
Will Goodnight Universe be on Game Pass?
There is currently no chatter about Goodnight Universe launching straight into Game Pass. Of course, that may change as we get nearer the November release. We’ll be sure to keep you updated should it become known.
The stars are aligning for what is shaping up to be one of the most unique and emotionally resonant interactive experiences of the year. With a celebrated developer, a prestigious award already under its belt, and a phenomenal cast, Goodnight Universe is a title that should be on every narrative game fan’s radar.
Mark your calendars for its arrival on November 11th.
