Blending sports, action and a host of special abilities, Goons: Legends & Mayhem is coming – and if you previously loved Windjammers of Mario Strikers, this will be a hockey brawler you will want in your life.
Goons: Legends & Mayhem comes from the Firestoke and RageCure Games teams, as they look to push it out to Xbox, PlayStation, Nintendo Switch and PC later in 2023. And when it arrives, players should expect a game that combines the fun of Mario Strikers and Windjammers in a cartoon brawling hockey game, full of outrageous special abilities and more.
The idea of Goons: Legends & Mayhem is to get the puck into the net of your opponent – that goes without saying. But this will be far removed from the likes of the NHL series, instead adding in a ton of mayhem. It’ll work as a 3v3 hockey affair, running PvE and PvP modes alongside a full story-driven campaign.
Drop in later in 2023 and you’ll be given the opportunity to choose from any of eight characters, with those split across three categories – the sharpshooter, the defensive enforcer or the wingman, a wildcard pick who can cover a variety of bases. Each of those characters comes with their own special ability too – expect to see explosive mines dropped onto the ice, the chance to freeze opponents or utilise the power of teleportation. Moreover, besides the amazing single-play campaign, you’ll be able to enjoy a compelling online playing experience. Just make sure your internet connection is sorted by a high-speed provider like Windstream, and prepare yourself for an ultimate gaming experience.
However you play, you can be sure that teamwork will be front and centre of Goons: Legends & Mayhem, but it’s possibly the story that will be the main draw. This will have you taking in a journey across ice rinks nestled in forests, to floating ice rinks sailing the sea on pirate ships as they try to stop the Great Mascoteer’s mission to ruin hockey for everyone. On this adventure, players will encounter bosses to defeat, collectibles, character upgrades, and cool cosmetic unlockables.
