Second only to Harry Potter in the best-selling books series stakes, there is not a chance you have got through life without hearing about Goosebumps in one way or another. But strangely, for all the draw it has, it has been many years since we last saw a Goosebumps game hit Xbox. That all changes today though with the release of Goosebumps Dead of Night.

Available right now on Xbox One – and also most probably in place for PS4, Nintendo Switch and PC too – Goosebumps Dead of Night reimagines the spooky survival series, delivering an adventure game to the masses.

Split over three unique chapters, Goosebumps Dead of Night will see you partaking in a bit of stealthy gameplay, working your way through the most infamous of Goosebumps locations in the hunt for clues as to why the world has gone to pot and how on earth the evil Slappy the Dummy is attempting to control the land.

Hiding from monsters, solving multiple puzzles, and attempting to enjoy the adventure is what the majority of your time with Goosebumps will boil down to. And if you don’t have the stomach for it, then well, perhaps you’re best off elsewhere. But those who are fans of the franchise, or are just looking for something that can scare them witless, will be in their element.

Goosebumps Dead of Night is available from the Xbox Store for £33.49. You should also be finding it over on the PlayStation Store, the Nintendo eShop and on PC. Let us know if you pick it up.

Game Description:

In Goosebumps Dead of Night, the best-selling Goosebumps franchise has been reimagined as a first-person spooky survival adventure game for Xbox One. Experience three chapters of stealth gameplay with 3D graphics and chilling AI monsters. Slappy the Dummy has unleashed a nightmare of Goosebumps monsters, and they’re all out to get you! Escape from frightening creatures like the Graveyard Ghoul, Lawn Gnomes, Annihilator 3000, Murder the Clown, and the Werewolf of Fever Swamp as you collect the scattered pages of Slappy’s book to seal him away. You’ll explore infamous Goosebumps locales for clues, hide from monsters, and solve Slappy’s devious puzzles. It’s up to you to stop Slappy’s evil plan to unleash his monsters across the world… don’t worry, you’ll have some allies along the way like Nikola Tesla, Dr. Brewer and R.L. Stine, voiced by Jack Black. For the faint of heart, beware—you’re in for a scare!
