There are a million and one roguelike clones on the market, but the Darkest Dungeon: Crimson Edition promises to bring much more than just permadeath and randomness. How do you fancy twisted forests, ruined crypts, a massive array of foes, a turn based combat system and a host of gameplay meaningful quirks?

Sound good? Well, if you head down to the Microsoft Store today and grab a copy of Darkest Dungeon: Crimson Edition, then that’s the surprise which will be awaiting you. Priced at £19.99, this roguelike turn based RPG will take you on an adventure of psychological stress as you learn how to lead a team of flawed heroes through the toughest of environments.

15 hero classes will be available from launch, and you’ll need to look after each and every one in order to see your time in the Darkest Dungeon becoming a successful one.

With the Crimson Court expansion also included, it cannot be said that Darkest Dungeon on Xbox One is lacking in quantity, and that £19.99 price tag may just start to sound like a bit of a bargain.

If you find that you are taken in by the Dungeon, then it may be worth your while looking at The Shieldbreaker DLC too. Priced at £3.19, it brings a new Hero Class and more.
