Teardown has always been about finding increasingly elaborate ways to smash, crash and demolish your way through a problem, but there has been one thing missing from that particular recipe – other people. That’s no longer the case, as Teardown’s free multiplayer update is out today on Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5, allowing up to 12 players to turn its destructible world into a shared playground of destruction.
And if that wasn’t enough, Mod Pack 6 is also available for free, adding 30 new mods to the console experience while bringing multiplayer support to dozens of previously released creations. Basically, Teardown has just become a lot more dangerous when your mates are involved.

Finally, Tear It All Down Together
The headline addition is obvious. Teardown’s online multiplayer update lets players experience the game’s voxel-based destruction and physics together for the first time on console.
The base campaign can now be tackled cooperatively across all 40 missions, potentially opening up some very different approaches to the game’s heists. One player might be busy making a hole where a wall used to be while another lines up the getaway, with the whole thing hopefully coming together before the alarms and consequences arrive.
Or you can forget about the careful planning altogether.
Sandbox Mode gives players unlimited resources with which to experiment, while competitive multiplayer brings familiar modes including Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch and Capture the Flag. With up to 12 players sharing the same destructible environments, it should be possible to turn even the most innocent-looking building into an absolute disaster zone fairly quickly.
Two New Maps And Mod Pack 6 Join The Destruction
The update isn’t simply about opening existing content to multiplayer either.
Two new official maps have arrived in the form of Splitfield Estate and Cratertown. Splitfield Estate comes with its own Treasure Thieves game mode, while Cratertown has been designed around mirrored layouts for team-based multiplayer.
Alongside multiplayer comes Teardown: Mod Pack #6, and this one is another free addition packed with community creations.
There are 30 new mods in total, covering everything from weapons and vehicles to maps, weather effects and entirely new ways to play. Battle Royale, Prop Hunt and Vehicle Sumo are among the bigger additions, giving players some suitably unexpected ways to make use of Teardown’s destruction.
There are also new tools such as an FPV Drone, Light Katana, Tripmine and Hunting Rifle, alongside creations including Dynamic Weather + Dynamic Time, Tornado Mod and Smoke Grenade.
Perhaps more importantly, multiplayer support is being added to more than 40 favourite mods from previous Mod Packs, meaning the new update isn’t starting from scratch when it comes to community-made content.
A Perfect Match For Teardown
When we reviewed Teardown, we awarded it an impressive 4.5/5, noting that while the game can take a little while to click, once its ideas fall into place there’s very little else quite like it. “But once Teardown clicks, it clicks like nothing else you’ll have played for a good while.“
That variety was already one of its biggest strengths, with Challenges, Mods and Creative mode helping turn its destruction-focused concept into something capable of keeping players busy for a very long time.
Now add other players into that equation and the possibilities become even more entertaining. Carefully planned heists, competitive battles, elaborate experiments or simply seeing how much of a building can be removed before everything goes horribly wrong – Teardown’s multiplayer update is out today, and there’s a lot more to knock down.
Teardown’s free multiplayer update and Mod Pack 6 are available now on Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5. You can download the base game from the usual storefronts, like that of the Xbox Store.
