It’s been 20 years since the iconic Grand Theft Auto III first fired itself into our lives, and in celebration of that anniversary Rockstar Games are going big, bringing together some of the finest titles in their library and bundling them together into the Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition for Xbox, PlayStation, Switch and PC.
On the back of two decades of Grand Theft Auto III, comes Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition from Rockstar Games. Due to launch on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, PS5, Nintendo Switch and PC later this year, this bundle brings together GTAIII alongside two equally legendary tales in Grand Theft Auto: Vice City and Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas.
Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition will feature across-the-board upgrades including graphical improvements and modern gameplay enhancements for all three titles (you know, like it did when the same trilogy dropped previously), all while still maintaining the classic look and feel of the originals. That’s pretty much all you need to know for now, but Rockstar are promising further details in the weeks ahead.
However, this does mean that they’ll be starting to remove existing versions of the classic titles from your favourite digital store very soon, all prior to the Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition arriving. Expect to see that collection hit iOS and Android in the early part of 2022 too.
That’s not all though and as part of the 20th anniversary celebration for GTAIII, expect to be treated to some special gear in Grand Theft Auto Online throughout upcoming events this Fall, including commemorative clothing and liveries. Again, further details for that will drop soon, as will everything you need to know about further improvements to GTA Online and a move to Xbox Series X|S and PS5 in March 2022.
We’ll be sure to bring you what you need to know, as soon as we have it. For now, let us know if you’ll be jumping in to the madness of the Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition when it arrives on Xbox, PlayStation, Switch and PC soon. The comments are below.
