Graveyard Keeper just keeps rising from the dead, but now, finally, it meets its end as the Last Journey Edition reveals itself to the world.
Available today on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S is the final edition of Graveyard Keeper, as it emerges from the dark in the form of the Last Journey Edition, bringing together the base game plus all DLC pieces, including that of the new Better Save Soul expansion.
Graveyard Keeper is a dark comedy experience, one in which you’ll be tasking with overseeing the dead in a cemetery, micro-managing things to ensure that your ‘clients’ are kept happy. It’s a game that is as weird as it sounds, as you utilise the resources found around you in order to ensure that your graveyard is kept spick and span. Upgrading the land, mining for resources and bartering as you go is all par for the course in this management affair. You’ll get to work automations too, ensuring that you have time to deliver church sermons on time.
We reviewed the original base game of Graveyard Keeper back in 2018, throwing down a 3.5/5 review score and picking up the excellent art style and deep, rewarding experience as a couple of positives. Since that time the game has continued to stay fresh with the Breaking Dead DLC, a similar Stranger Sins pack and that of Game of Crone.
Now we get Graveyard Keeper Last Journey Edition from Lazy Bear Games and their publishing friends at tinyBuild, arriving on the same day as the launch of the final expansion – Better Save Soul. It’s there in which you’ll get to save souls for the sake of The Ancient Contract (and personal gain). Help a shady new friend named Euric remove the shards of sin from his soul in return for the invaluable knowledge of remote workbench management to maximize mortuary efficiency.
If you’ve yet to delve into the management of this graveyard, we’d suspect that the Last Journey Edition will be one of appeal, whilst those already with the base game in their digital Xbox libraries will no doubt prefer the individual Better Save Souls DLC pack. Hit up the Xbox Store page for Graveyard Keeper and then go from there.
“The cemetery beckons for new employees, so we’re looking forward to adding PlayStation 4 and Xbox One players to our Graveyard Keeper roster,” said Nikita Kulaga, Co-Founder, Lazy Bear Games, “We hope these new-hires pick up their shovels and enjoy our otherworldly mix of the stranger side of the medieval times, raunchy and playful dark humor, and compelling management sim.”
