There was plenty to like about the beautiful hand-drawn world of Greak: Memories of Azur, and now the siblings are preparing to return.
Greak 2: Alliance of the Storms has been officially announced, bringing a new adventure to Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch and PC in 2027.
The big change this time around? Greak won’t have to face the dangers of the world alone. The sequel introduces both local and online co-op, allowing two players to take control of Greak and his sister Adara as they attempt to survive across two very different realities.

Two Siblings, Two Realities
Greak and Adara have escaped their homeland and arrived in the previously unexplored land of Synoraz. Unfortunately, things don’t stay peaceful for long.
A ruthless sorcerer splits the siblings across parallel dimensions, leaving each of them experiencing a different version of the world. That means unique paths to explore, different objects to interact with and enemies that can only be encountered by one sibling or the other.
Their journey will eventually see the pair attempting to find their way back to the Courines, but they’ll need to work together if they’re going to make it through the hostile land standing in their way.
Co-Op Takes Centre Stage
The original Greak asked players to control multiple characters, but Greak 2 is taking a different approach by properly embracing cooperative play.
Two players can join forces either locally or online, with each person taking responsibility for one of the siblings. Their abilities can be combined to overcome obstacles and solve puzzles designed specifically around teamwork.
Of course, solo players aren’t being left behind. It will still be possible to play alone, seamlessly switching between Greak and Adara whenever needed.
The sequel will also introduce new abilities for both characters, allowing players to uncover hidden routes and tackle the interconnected world in different ways. There will also be a major storyline involving the legendary Storm Eagles, with players attempting to earn Jerido’s trust and rescue the last Storm Egg before the species is lost forever.
All of it will once again unfold in Navegante’s distinctive hand-drawn style, which was undoubtedly one of the highlights of the original game.

A Welcome Return for Greak
We reviewed Greak: Memories of Azur back in the day, awarding it a 3.5/5 score. We were particularly impressed by its visual design and the gameplay when focusing on a single character, although controlling multiple characters simultaneously later in the adventure brought some frustrations.
That makes the new co-op focus of Greak 2: Alliance of the Storms particularly interesting. Handing one sibling to another player could be exactly the evolution the series needs, while solo players will still have the option to swap between the pair.
