Greek Tragedy
Greek Tragedy – out now

If you’ve been missing the days of fixed camera angles, tank controls, and non-linear puzzles, your prayers (or perhaps your curses) have been answered in Greek Tragedy.

Greek Tragedy, a brand-new indie survival horror game steeped in the PS1 aesthetic, has launched today, 30th October 2025. This cinematic student-horror experience from publisher Pineapple Works is now available on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PC, PlayStation, and Nintendo Switch for ÂŁ13.24.

To make the deal even sweeter, the game is launching with a -15% discount until 13th November, making it the perfect dark and spooky treat for your Halloween week.

A Love Letter to the Classics

Developed by a veteran duo whose credits include The Sims series, Greek Tragedy is a deliberate and loving callback to the classic survival horror titles of the 90s. It shares its core design, art direction, and unsettling tone with legends like Resident Evil and Silent Hill.

This is a game of exploration, non-linear puzzle-solving, and running for your life, all presented in a retro 3D TPP perspective mixed with 2D illustrated artworks.

A Bloodthirsty Cult

The story follows Amy Chipley, who, while immersing herself in her creative writing, suddenly gets an urgent and cryptic message from her boyfriend, Kurt. He implores her to meet him at the Student Union Building, suggesting he’s in immediate danger. But before she can even get there, she finds herself locked in the common room with a strange, foul-smelling gas seeping in.

Amy must do her best to find a way out quickly, or perish at the hands of a bloodthirsty cult. Why are there cameras in the dorm rooms? What do these robed fraternity brothers want? And how do ancient gemstones fit into all of this?

You’ll have to investigate the conspiracy, uncover secrets behind a recent wave of disappearances, and decide whether to rescue Kurt… or just get the hell out. You’ve still got student loans to pay, after all.

Another Haunting Tale from Pineapple Works

Publisher Pineapple Works continues to bring a diverse and interesting catalogue of indie games to the Xbox platform.

The retro-horror stylings of Greek Tragedy join a library that has recently included the punishing precision-platformer Frozen Rune and the acclaimed tactical horror Endoparasitic, proving they have a real eye for unique and unsettling experiences.

Your Cross-Platform Campus

Greek Tragedy is an Xbox Play Anywhere title. This fantastic feature means your horrifying university experience can continue, no matter which device you’re on. A single digital purchase on the Xbox Store unlocks the game for you on both your Xbox console and your Windows PC, with all your clues and progress synced via the cloud.

Your Student Syllabus

Here’s what you can expect from your time on campus:

  • A Cinematic College Student Horror Experience.
  • A Callback to Classic Survival Horror PS1 Titles with retro 3D visuals.
  • Non-linear Puzzles with multiple endings.
  • Deep Secrets to Uncover: Investigate a conspiracy, rescue your boyfriend, and expose the truth.
  • Full Xbox Play Anywhere Support.

Class is in session, but the curriculum is survival. If you’re a fan of classic, PS1-style survival horror and are ready to uncover a dark conspiracy, Greek Tragedy is ready for your investigation on the Xbox Store right now.

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore.
