The rebooted GRID has gone down an absolute storm, with Codemasters dialling in the exhilaration and thrills to the latest game, once more grabbing racers like they did all those years ago. With a ton of content included from the get-go, chances are any GRID racer still has a fair old bit to work through, as they prove themselves as the ultimate racer. But that’s not stopping Codies from throwing more content out there, and Season One of GRID will take us to the streets of France!
Much like they’ve done with the brilliant DiRT Rally 2.0, it seems Codemasters will be filling GRID with content drops galore, and Season One will kick all of that off, taking us to Paris, delivering four new cars to the garage, and giving access to more than 30 career events.
Available to all who own the Ultimate Edition of GRID – whilst becoming available for purchase to those with the Standard or Day One editions – Season One will provide the Hot Hatch Showdown. This event will see four legendary hatchbacks added to GRID’s roster, with players able to get behind the wheel of the MINI Hatch JCW, Lancia Delta HF Integrale Super Hatch, Renault Clio S1600, and the AUDI S1 quattro Concept. Playable across Career, Free Play and Multiplayer, the new Hot Hatches can be used in any race scenario. They’ll all become available for Ultimate Edition players, but those without that will discover the Renault s1600 is available in Free Play and Multiplayer events as a loan car.
And you’ll want these new cars too as GRID’s globe-trotting Career mode will provide more challenges to overcome, with Season One adding another 33 Career events to conquer. Available to Ultimate Edition players, the new tab in teh career menu will give access to two brand new Career threads – one featuring the new Season One cars, the other using the existing car roster.
Further to all this though and Codemasters are also ushering in the return of a series favourite, available for free to all players, as we race around the Arc de Triomphe, underneath the Eiffel Tower and through the streets of Paris. With three different routes, each with a reverse option, Paris is a tight and complex circuit, full of undulation and overtaking opportunities. Race in daytime, at night, in the rain, dusk or dawn – all options are open to create a dream race event, in one of the world’s most iconic cities.
Season One of GRID will arrive come 4th December. We’ll be sure to let you know when it hits, for now though, the usual announcement trailer is below. And if you haven’t yet purchased GRID on Xbox One – get on over to the Xbox Store now.
