GRIP: Combat Racing gets an official release date for Xbox One, PS4, Switch and PC

Best of 2025

The date has been set for when racers can grip that wheel and take to the tracks, walls and ceilings in GRIP: Combat Racing. There are also a few perks for those who pre-order the game through GameStop. So, would you like to know more?

Wired Productions and Caged Element are the respective publisher and developer behind GRIP: Combat Racing, who just revealed the date that their futuristic arcade combat racing will arrive for the masses. Racers can throw themselves into the ferociously fast experience on 6th November, 2018 when it releases on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch and PC (via Steam).

“We’re getting pretty excited as we near the finish line on GRIP,” said Chris Mallinson, Game Director. “It’s been surreal to see this passion project evolve into the intense combat racing experience that players will soon be able to dive into.”

GRIP: Combat Racing is inspired by the Rollcage games of yesteryear, with racers able to jump behind the wheel of one of 15 armoured cars and speed around the 22 tracks present, which are set within a variety of hostile and foreign worlds. Some of the cars are swift and agile, whilst others are heavily armoured and rather brutish, but the real advantage over your fierce competitors comes by being merciless when deploying the weapons and power-ups at your disposal. It’s all in aid of crossing the finish line first in this arcade combat racer, no matter how much chaos and destruction you leave in your wake.

Players can experience the gravity-defying physics, breakneck speeds and intense action, of GRIP: Combat Racing for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch and PC, on 6th November, 2018. If you’re tempted enough to pre-order it and reside in the US, then placing the order with GameStop will ensure you also receive the exclusive Nyvoss Hex Paint Kit, the Vortex Rim Pack, and five pre-order exclusive vehicle decals. The rest of us will just have to make do with the breathtaking action that GRIP: Combat Racing hopes to provide, without all the little extras.

What do you think about the intense racing it’s sure to offer? Let us know your thoughts via the comments or on social media.

Been gaming casually since the SNES as a youngster but found my true passion for games on the Playstation 1 (the forbidden word ooo). My addiction grew to its pinnacle with the purchase of an Xbox 360 & Xbox Live Service. A recovering GS hunter that will still play literally any game.
