You never quite know what you’re going to get when you fire up a race in GTA Online this week. Rockstar is putting the spotlight on Random Transform Races, adding five new events and throwing triple rewards at players willing to adapt when their vehicle suddenly changes beneath them.
There’s plenty more happening beyond the chaos, too. Three more vehicles can now receive Drift Tuning Upgrades, Drift Races are paying out double rewards, and a special weekend bonus will see selected races offering a huge 6X GTA$ and RP.

Expect the Unexpected in New Transform Races
Random Transform Races are the main attraction this week, with five new events joining the rotation.
Three are Known Unknown Races, taking players through locations including Redwood Lights Track, the Elysian Island docks and the Grand Senora Desert. Here, you’ll work through a predetermined selection of vehicles in a random order, meaning you could find yourself moving from a nimble ATV to something considerably more cumbersome.
Two new Unknown Unknown Races take things even further, mixing land, sea and air vehicles and requiring players to react quickly to whatever gets thrown at them.
All Random Transform Races are paying out 3X GTA$ and RP through September 2nd. And if you’re playing between August 28 and August 30, selected Drift and Transform Races will offer a whopping 6X GTA$ and RP.
Three More Cars Get Ready to Slide
Drifting is also getting some attention this week, with Drift Tuning Upgrades now available for the Annis Elegy Retro, Invetero Coquette and Vapid Dominator GTT.
That’s particularly handy given that Drift Races are currently paying 2X GTA$, RP and LS Car Meet Rep through September 2nd.
Complete three Drift Races during the week and you’ll also tick off the Weekly Challenge, earning an extra GTA$100,000. Meanwhile, anyone who finishes a Drift Race in the Übermacht Cypher will unlock the Glitch Camo drift livery, with the reward delivered within 72 hours.
Double Rewards Beyond the Racetrack
If sideways driving isn’t your thing, Auto Shop owners can also get involved in the bonuses. Auto Shop Robbery Contracts are paying 2X GTA$, RP and LS Car Meet Rep through September 2nd.
That should provide a decent excuse to dust off those tools and head back into some clandestine criminal activity.

It’s been a busy few weeks for GTA Online, following the recent Brand Wars event that saw Sprunk and eCola going head-to-head across Los Santos.
This week’s update takes a slightly less tribal approach and instead asks players to embrace unpredictability. Whether you’re cycling through random vehicles at high speed or trying to keep one of GTA Online’s newly upgraded rides pointing in roughly the right direction, there’s plenty of opportunity to earn some serious cash before the bonuses disappear.
