Halloween – out now!

Michael Myers is back where he belongs. Halloween is now available on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5 and PC, inviting players to return to Haddonfield for a fresh take on the events surrounding one of horror’s most recognisable killers.

Developed by IllFonic and published by IllFonic Publishing alongside co-publisher Gun Interactive, Halloween blends asymmetrical multiplayer with a standalone single-player experience inspired by the original 1978 movie. Whether you want to become The Shape or attempt to survive his latest night of terror, Haddonfield is waiting.

Welcome Back to Haddonfield

Halloween takes players back to that fateful night in 1978, with the quiet streets of Haddonfield transformed into a playground for Michael Myers.

The game offers a 1v4 asymmetrical setup, giving one player control of Michael while the remaining players take on the role of civilians trying to escape. That means the familiar cat-and-mouse formula is firmly in place, but IllFonic is giving both sides plenty of tools with which to turn the tables.

As Michael, stealth is the name of the game. Players can stalk their targets from the shadows and use his abilities to hunt down unsuspecting residents. For those on the other side of the mask, survival means working together, alerting the authorities, finding weapons and making use of whatever resources Haddonfield has to offer.

Even the local population can become part of the struggle, with civilians able to be equipped and commanded to help fend off The Shape.

A New Way to Experience The Night He Came Home

While multiplayer is a major part of Halloween, it isn’t the only way to step into Haddonfield.

A standalone single-player story mode allows fans to experience the events surrounding the original film from Michael Myers’ perspective. Across six chapters narrated by Dr. Sam Loomis, players can uncover more about Michael’s night while recreating iconic elements of his story.

It’s an interesting addition for a game based around an established horror movie, particularly for fans who have spent years watching Michael from the other side of the knife.

The sandbox approach also means there is room to experiment with how the encounters play out, rather than simply following a predetermined sequence of events.

The Deluxe Edition Gets You Into the Action Early

Halloween is available today through its Digital Deluxe Edition for £49.99, while the Standard Edition costs £33.49 and arrives on September 8th.

The Digital Deluxe Edition includes:

  • Exclusive Inmate Michael Myers skin
  • Two exclusive civilians – Alexis and Richard
  • Advance access to Laurie Strode cosmetic
  • Digital comic

The game is available on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5 and PC, with the PC release available through Steam and the Epic Games Store.

A Return We’ve Been Watching

This isn’t the first time we’ve written about Halloween. We covered Michael Myers’ return when the game was announced in 2025, with IllFonic promising a new asymmetrical horror experience built around the world of the original movie.

Now that the wait is over, players can finally see how that idea has come together.

And there’s plenty of reason for fans of the franchise to be curious. Halloween isn’t simply trying to put Michael Myers into another multiplayer horror game – it is attempting to recreate the tension of being hunted by an enemy who feels almost impossible to stop, while also giving players the opportunity to become the killer themselves.

The Shape Comes Home

With its combination of single-player storytelling, 1v4 multiplayer and a Haddonfield setting inspired by the movie that started it all, Halloween has plenty of tricks up its sleeve.

Whether you’re here to stalk the neighbourhood as Michael Myers or desperately try to get everyone out alive, the latest game built around The Shape is now ready to put those plans to the test.

Just remember – when Halloween night arrives in Haddonfield, nowhere feels particularly safe.
