Following the release of Halo 5: Guardians, 343 Industries and Xbox has announced that the Halo World Championship will be launching in December. It is going to be the biggest competition in the Halo franchise which will be based around the arena of Halo 5.
Here’s what you need to know…
As you all know, the prize was originally going to be $1,000,000 for this Championship, but because of the community that has praised the Halo franchise, it has been brought up to $1,700,000, which will more than likely grow further in the coming days.
The tournament format for the Halo Championship has been kept simple.
On December 6, 2015 the Online Ladders will begin. Followed by that, the Online Qualifiers and Regional In-Person Live Events begin on December 19, 2015 which will follow through until the end of January, 2016. On January 23, 2016 the Regional Finals across North America, Europe, Latin America and Asia/Australia/New Zealand will go until February 21, 2016. After this concludes, the Halo World Championship Prelims and Finals will begin on March 1, 2016 and will end on March 20, 2016.
