BLACKHOLE: Complete Edition isn’t any old 2D platformer, as it is gravity itself that you will be having to harness to get past its tricky puzzles and environments.
BLACKHOLE is set on Entity, a planet-like area that you have had the unfortunate experience of crash-landing on in your spaceship, the Endera, via a black hole. When you wake up from the crash and realise you are on your own, except for the sarcastic ship AI Auriel for company, you must traverse the lost cities, deep forests, mysterious caves and towering mountains of Entity to fix your broken spaceship, find your fellow crew members and save Earth by closing the black hole that you got sucked into.
This won’t be easy however, as around every corner there will most likely be a deadly trap or gravity-defying logic puzzle for you to get through. This is where you must put your thinking cap on to get past the fiendish puzzles that appear over the 70+ levels that the the game throws at you during its sci-fi themed story. The levels won’t be simple affairs either, as you will have to use the gravity changing areas it has to see things in a new perspective in order to grab enough collectibles to complete the level.
As for the ‘Complete Edition’ in the title, BLACKHOLE has been on Steam for a while now, and the Xbox One version of the game will have all the previously released DLC for the game – as well as some exclusive content for you to get your hands on.
If BLACKHOLE: Complete Edition takes your fancy then you can pick it up from today for £11.99 on Xbox One. The Xbox Games Store awaits. Our full review will be with you soon too.
When the crew of the spaceship Endera is sucked into a black hole, it seems like the end. Fortunately, the ship crashes on Entity – an unidentified object resembling a planet. After the crash, the first member to wake up is the guy who makes coffee for the crew – you! There’s no one around and your only ally is Auriel, the ship’s computer’s sarcastic A.I. Together, you’ll need to come up with a plan to fix the spaceship, save the others and become heroes of planet Earth by closing the black hole once and for all. It won’t be an easy task, because the mysterious caves, lost cities, towering mountains and deep forests are full of tricky, gravity-defying puzzles and deadly traps.
