The internet is a wonderful place but it can also be a hive of rumours. The latest of which is pointing to the fact Project CARS has been delayed until 2015 and that has now been confirmed.
Bandai Namco have just confirmed to us that Project CARS has been delayed. The Xbox One, PS4 and PC versions will now release on March 20th 2015 in Europe and March 17th 2015 in the US.
“Our goal has always been to deliver a landmark title that encompasses the wishes and desires of racing fans from all around the world; something with features and content powered by the community that provide a truly unforgettable and pioneering experience” said Ian Bell, Head of Studio at Slightly Mad Studios. “Whilst a tough decision to make, the change in release date allows the game the greatest chance of success and visibility, and the opportunity to polish the game even further to the high standards that both ourselves and our community demand and expect. We’re eager for you all to see what we’ve been working on in just a few months.”
Original post as follows:
We’ve given the distributors, Bandai Namco a shout and will keep you updated as to the situation, but if we are to believe everything we read then the original Kickstarting backers of CARS have been notified via a private forum.
However, some ‘bad news’ has been talked about over on a Reddit page and this would seemingly tie in well.
We’re always of the opinion that delays are always for a good reason and so if Slightly Mad Studios need a little more time to bring us a game closer to perfection than any other, then so be it!
It’s not like we don’t have enough other games to play at the moment 😉
A shame, but as long as the game that finally drops is of the very highest quality then I’m all for delays.
