It’s been a good year or so for 505 Games, with them not just taking down Metacritic’s Game Publisher of the Year award for 2019, but having been behind the launch of the brilliant Control and the hilarious Journey to the Savage Planet, they are also working on the upcoming launch of Death Stranding on PC. Today though it’s all about 505 Games and Limbic Entertainment coming together for the release of Memories of Mars on Xbox One, PS4 and PC.

Memories of Mars has been rolling around in Steam Early Access for the best part of two years already yet it is only now where we are seeing the game go big with a full launch on Xbox One, PS4 and PC, allowing players to enjoy – or at least attempt to enjoy – the open world of the Red Planet.

Priced at £16.74 and available from the Xbox Store, Memories of Mars is set 100 years in the future as the Mars dream has broken, yet it is still up to you to explore the world and attempt to maintain a habitable homestead.

As you would expect though, the Red Planet has many obstacles to overcome and not only will you need to get to grips with the unforgiving terrain and atmosphere, but will need to battle for supremacy against other potential survivors and enemies. Printing your own tools, learning new skills, and scavenging the landscape for resources is certainly par for the course.

Features include:

  • • 16 Km2 of Mars to discover over 120 points of interest including abandoned towns, mines, industrial facilities, biodomes…
  • • Cooperate or compete with others to fulfill your needs, craft your equipment and your base. There are upgradeable skills and hundreds of items to customize your experience.
  • • Combat NPCs and competing players. From basic security robots or drones to titanic military units, all left over from the failed colonization efforts.
  • • Join in-game events where players converge and compete for resources or follow our “Emergency Protocols” system that has players perform tasks through the environment as they learn about the downfall of Mars and try to escape it.

Fancy taking a trip to Mars? Memories of Mars can be grabbed from the Xbox Store, the PlayStation Store and the usual Steam page. Let us know which option you decide to take. And keep an eye out for our review too – we’ll have some thoughts coming your way in the days ahead.

Game Description:

MEMORIES OF MARS is an open world survival game set on the abandoned mining operations in Mars. Explore the unforgiving Martian terrain and build a habitable homestead while fighting off enemies, extreme conditions and other clone survivors. Unveil the events that led to the withdrawal from the Red Planet.
